I predict a crappy conference filled with turmoil and a message board explosion.

The team with the biggest question mark and could finish anywhere for me is going to be BU. If their freshmen are really, really good, they *could* finish as high as 2/3. Key for them without O'Brien is finding a consistent scoring threat. Maybe it's Dom Morris? Doubtful, but maybe. If they can find a consistent scorer out of Robinson/Thomas/Chionuma they might be alright. Their best bet to consistently score will probably be playing DJ Irving off the ball, even though he's really a PG. Will be interesting to see the Watson/Irving tandem.

Still don't know who defends the post and grabs a rebound outside of Morris though. BU might have one of the weakest (on paper now) returning front courts I see in the conference.

I will say this- if BU does finish that high, with 10 scholarship players and hardly any experienced forwards, Jones should win COY and the coaches that finish behind BU will really need to re-evalute their career choice

I don't think they will be good enough around the basket to finish higher than 5th.

I cannot recall the last time the conference slate being released this early; that tells me the league couldn't swing a TV deal with ESPN for the first time since E3 was released. I wonder if it will be up to the schools to get a regional network to do a game themselves, which would come out of the schools' pockets, instead of the AE's. I hope I'm wrong, though.

Also, I know we bag on each other for spelling and grammar errors, but in a professional press release like this, not cool. When did the budget for editing start to get cut?

IIRC the league's TV games are announced after the schedule is released- so hopefully that will be the case as well this season.

It does look like no AE teams will be in the Bracket Buster this year- no idea if ESPN is even planning a Bracket Buster or not.

UA's press release specifically states that we were "selected" to be in the BB as a road team...I believe all of the AE is taking part in the BB starting last year.

Awesome- that's great news. Hopefully with the CAA not participating it didn't kill the event.

I hope UVM is in- looking back on last year, it looks like they announced the Bracketbuster at a later time- September 28 to be exact:

Re: 2012-2013 AE Predictions

Once again the conference is sticking it to Stony Brook. At a quick glance i notice that not only does SBU get stuck playing Vermont, Albany, and hartford ywice each, but also has to travel to each of those schools once, what a bunch of crap!

Yes, one more year in the Peter Pan Nursery School gym. The tougher question to answer is where will SB play when we host the AE Championship game? Im positive that the arena will not be done by March and that it will be dismantled to the point of no one day fix ups. No need to worry though. Jim Fiore is a brilliant master mind and Im sure he has it all under control. SB may be so dominant this year that they just let the lower seeded tem host the game.

That's an easy question to answer: N/A...not applicable

BU has no open weekends in February. Neither does most of the conference, it seems.

Vermont, Albany and Hartford have the weekend of Feb 22/23 off, so maybe that's it.

Re: 2012-2013 AE Predictions

I hope UVM does good this year. Coach Becker has a lot of great guys to work with. Our new recruits seem really strong too!

UVM somewhere in the top 3, and the rest I dunno.

Re: 2012-2013 AE Predictions

UVM is in as they have scheduled only 12 OOC games. Add in 16 conference games makes 28. Max is 29. I wonder if SBU screwed up as thier schedule shows 13 OOC games. I assume the powerhouse MT Ida is not an exhibition game.
