Re: 2012-2013 AE Predictions
It appears that UNH is out of the BracketBuster as they have no mention of it in their schedule and I know Coach Herrion was not a huge fan of the game. Ashame as a fan I liked seeing someone new coming to Durham.

It appears the AE has gone back to only the top two teams participating... Coaches voted in April... Read into that what you will with both uvm and ua getting the nod...

Do you know who's call it was, ESPN's or the AE's? Not that it matters a ton, just curious. Makes sense that UVM and Albany would have been chosen back in April before defections- now I might go UVM/Stony Brook but honestly Albany could still be right there if newcomers can make an impact and the team defends.

Re: 2012-2013 AE Predictions
Part of the allure of the bracket buster is getting a shot at another game on ESPN somewhere. With the CAA contracted to NBC and Vermont's great showing in the NCAA's last season I like their chances for a televised game. Albany would also have had a gret shot at a tv game if Suero stuck around. A top two or three scorer nationally would have been a good draw.
I think SB soured on the Bracket Buster when NU chickened out and didn't want to return the home game they owed SB this year. (Im sorry, Im sorry NUHoopsFan - I was trolling there just to get a rise out of you - I could not resist. No need to reply.) |

Re: 2012-2013 AE Predictions
While we did have a great showing in the NCAA Tournament last season, the TV games are all decided based on current record for the current season and RPI leading up to the deadline for the pairings.

(And can we please stipulate that yes, the AE is a lowly conference with a poor RPI and the conference tournament winner will likely be in the PIG, etc. We know. We know.) |

Re: 2012-2013 AE Predictions
To give an analysis of Stony Brook without mentioning the incoming freshmen is ludicrous. Im also a bit mystified. When did Marcus Rouse and Anthony Jackson leave school and Marcus Rose and Austin Jackson transfer in? See you all at Rider at 6:00 am in two weeks!

Re: 2012-2013 AE Predictions
I don't see how it's remotely set in stone that the AE will be in the PIG again.
If Hartford/Bing/UMBC get 1 win total OOC then yes, but if they perform better as all 3 teams are improved in some way, then we should avoid it. Each year, the team's at the top all seem to have same type of records- it's the teams at the bottom that dragged down RPI last year. A 9-team conference can afford to have 1 sub-10 win team, not 3.

![]() Also agree with Salty that it was not necessarily the best-informed preview, but at least it was something.. |
