Re: 2014 America East Recruiting Thread
Going to make a list of 2014 kids where I've seen UVM. 2013 recruiting is not done, but with 6 scholarships to give in 2014 this will be the current coaching staffs biggest challenge- that's a huge recruiting class. In no order:
Dimitri Floras- Offer Jeff Spellman- Offer JP Macura- Offer Jackson Donahue Colin Richey Henry Bolton- Offer Matt St. Amour Mack Mercer- Offer Calvin Crawford- Offer I know there's more, but these are just some names I've seen on Blogs, Twitter, recruiting sites, etc etc

Re: 2014 America East Recruiting Thread
St. Amour would have to reclassify if he wanted to be a part of the 2014 class. As it stands he graduates high school in 2013 and I believe is looking to play next fall. Obviously he has a much better shot at playing for UVM if preps for a year and can help fill the roster in 2014. I'm not sure how much interest or if there are firm offers on the table for him next fall.

That and reading Twitter it would seem Phillips Exeter might be an option.

Re: 2014 America East Recruiting Thread
I hope St. Amour does prep for a year. He's a talented player with all the intangibles (work ethic, grades, character, etc.) but he is held back by living and playing in Franklin County, Vermont. It's tough being a baller in Northwestern Vermont. I do think with an extra year playing against more formidable competition, a more demanding coach, and an opportunity to work on a more structured strengthening routine he could definitely be a role player on a D1 team. Vermont is a great fit for a player like Matt. I know a good number Franklin county residents are season ticket holders so it would be a good PR move for the program as well.

Nice, can shoot the trey, athletic and has great court vision I would say he is a sure thing in the AE but can he defend?

But obviously, if he has any intentions of going to UVM, it would be better for everyone if he did a PG year and reclassified to 2014 when UVM needs to bring in 6 new players. I don't see him taking the remaining 2013 scholarship. A year of prep school at a school like Northfield Mount Hermon or Phillips Exeter would be terrific for him. Just look what a PG year did for a kid like Clancy Rugg.

Re: 2014 America East Recruiting Thread
Here's video on John Veil, 2014 PG in MN UVM is reportedly going to see. Very good player, especially considering this is SO year of HS footage:

Re: 2014 America East Recruiting Thread
Newest video for Dimitri Floras. Kid is really, really good. He looks like a better version of Four McGlynn right now because he can also play PG. Can handle the ball with both hands effortlessly. I think the AE might be in his rear view after this season, but we'll see. Also, picked up offers from Manhattan and Harvard recently.

Re: 2014 America East Recruiting Thread
I think Floras should be A10/ some BCS schools by the time his recruitment is done. I've watched video of Tyus Jones who is the #1 ranked PG in 2014 and #2 ranked player in the country, and yes Jones is better but I honestly don't think Floras is so far away. Seems like he's really under the radar.

Re: 2014 America East Recruiting Thread
With 2013 recruiting finalized, although given transfers and other unknowns you just never...know, but the coaching staff can now look ahead to 2014 recruiting- which currently will be a class of 6 players.
Probably the biggest challenge for Becker since becoming head coach. Looking forward to following the 2014 recruiting. Makes the additions of Harold/Pierson even more genius.
