Re: Who's going where? More fallout expected!
The point is that college is insanely overpriced. QU now costs about $54K a year for tuition/room and board. With that being said, BU and NU are much, much better schools.

Re: Who's going where? More fallout expected!
My daughter's going to UVM this fall.. UVM's expensive for a state school, but dang, a whole heck of a lot cheaper than private ones. (I think that out-of-state UVM costs $49k.) But it also depends how much money the college is willing to throw your way. I'm certainly envious of, and applaud, any kid who's worked hard enough and is talented enough to get a free ride via an athletic scholarship (and is lucky to compete in a sport that *has* them).

NMH and UVM... wow, that's an excellent, top notch combination.

Re: Who's going where? More fallout expected!
I kind of thought all the who's going where drama had died down to the point that I wasn't expecting anymore defections; however, in a newsletter I received today from the UVM athletic department, it seems our AD "suspects more changes may come". He also states that "work has begun to strengthen our core", but it seems to me that he expects more programs are or will leave fairly soon. I don't really care to speculate who or where, just kind of disappointed that this topic is coming up again.

"The America East Conference learned in June that Boston University will be changing its affiliation following the 2012-2013 season and work has already begun among league members to strengthen our core. We at Vermont have identified the tenets that are most important to our athletic affiliations and those values will guide our involvement in the process. While I suspect that more changes may come, we remain committed to working with league officials to providing our student-athletes with the best possible experience". Re: Who's going where? More fallout expected!
I thought we went around and around that UNH, as a public school, couldn't be in the Patriot due to some federal guidelines?

Hhhmmmmmmmm, that definitely reads a little differently than I had taken it. I can't imagine who on earth would be leaving and where they would be going... Maine - no UNH - apparently not or they would have by now I would think Vermont - to what league? NEC? Patriot? Hartford - are they appealing to any eastern based league? I have no idea Albany - doubtful Bing - doubtful Stony Brook - obviously they aren't leaving right now UMBC - hhmmmmm, would someone have an interest in them? Honestly, I can't see any of these schools leaving right now and can't see where most would really go. Would the MAAC try to steal anybody? For what reason? The NEC could try to poach but now that the Albany/Stony Brook dust has settled, not sure the NEC is appealing to anybody in the conference. Guess time will tell...

Re: Who's going where? More fallout expected!
If this is the case...and added to the fact that Stony Brook was openly flirting but is still here...it seems to me that the AEast would appear to be on pretty solid footing with its current membership. That would have to be appealing to some of the schools we have discussed ad nauseum already on this forum and would lead me to believe that an invite would be met with a 'yes' from those schools.
