I don't think he's good enough now to play in the NBA, but unlike a lot of AE prospects that have come close recently Partin has the right size for the position he plays, so he has that going for him.

You're right. His length was and is one of his biggest strengths. I just can't see him having more success than John Holland. |

At least with Suero he might have a chance to develop into prospect had he stayed another year and learned how to play organized basketball some more- but unfortunately we'll never know.

Re: NBA Draft / loose Boston U content
Here's wishing Suero good luck in his pursuit of his dream to be a pro (Getting paid to play basketball). Clearly not an NBA player at this time, but no one thought Gary Neal was either after he left Towson. Now, I'm not saying he will ever be an NBA player, but no one really knows what happens in the future. Personally, I don't see it, but who cares what I think? At any rate, he will make money overseas, and hopefully have a nice career. It's interesting to see how he was looked at by those who didn't watch him as closely as those in the AE. As with most evaluations, the more you watch someone, the more you tend to only see what they can't do, not what they do well......

Re: NBA Draft / loose Boston U content
I think Partin is actually an NBA-style player, but just not good enough for the NBA. If you know what I mean. He's tall for a guard, the right height for a guard in the NBA, and he seems to be capable of having the me-first or the one-on-one game/approach needed in the NBA. High volume, low efficiency (though I don't have the numbers on this - I'm sure someone here does). But like I said, not an accurate enough shot, not quick or athletic enough for the NBA. Maybe he'd make a good NBDL player but can probably find a better job in Europe because he was certainly able to fit into a system, secondary-role spot at BU when he was a junior, so I think he's capable of adjusting his game if there is a leader on the team with a good coach.

Re: NBA Draft / loose Boston U content
Also, when I read the title of this thread, I thought it would be in reference to Marquis Teague getting picked at the end of the first round. I know the BU fans and NU Hoop Fan know this, but the rest might not know his father played at BU. Second year in a row that a son of a former BU player was picked in the first round. And neither of them played at BU (haha!). And a side note, he is Jeff Teague's younger brother.

Re: NBA Draft / loose Boston U content
Darryl Partin is a Mad Ant! He was drafted in last night's NBDL draft.
https://twitter.com/TheMadAnts/statu...26836241932289 I'm doubtful he'll make it to the NBA, but I feel other people have a higher opinion of his game. He seems to be highlighted quite a bit in prospect lists: http://www.nba.com/dleague/gallery/n...s_2012_18.html http://www.nba.com/dleague/news/d_le...caa_11_01.html Whatever the case, I'll be pulling for him; maybe he'll surprise us all! |
