OT: John Holland

Former BU great and 2011 AE Player of the Year John Holland will be playing for the Thunder in the NBA summer league. He passed on a chance to play for the Puerto Rican National Team to take a run at the NBA.

Re: OT: John Holland

Terrific news for Holland.

If he can show he is a SG rather than a 3- which in Holland's case would mean improving foot speed, ball-handling, and perimeter shot consistency- he has a great shot IMO. OKC is a great organization and very well run, so you know Holland will get a fair look and a chance from them. If he shows he can do it, they will take him.

Best of luck to Holland, I'm looking forward to seeing him play.

Re: OT: John Holland

Puerto Rico has been eliminated from Olympic qualifying so this turned out to be a good decision. Wish he latched onto the Brooklyn Nets; they will have roster spots up for grabs. Still it's cool JH will have a chance to open some eyes this summer.

Summer League really doesn't matter which team you play on- I think training camp invite makes more of a difference in terms of making an actual roster. Key for Holland will be playing well enough for a camp invite somewhere in the fall.

Holland will take on the Celtics Summer League roster today at 1pm

Re: OT: John Holland

I don't believe Holland got into the game today. If he did, it wasn't until the 4th.

Sullinger looked great for Celts. Needs to get in better conditioning, but he'll contribute.

Celtics are going to look pretty foolish for not selecting Perry Jones instead of Melo though. That was a big mistake. Jones would have been great to learn from KG.

Re: OT: John Holland

a lot of people passed on perry jones because of injuries. Not sure how long he will last in the nba but the celtics are in win now mode and i think jones would be better for winning now.

Re: OT: John Holland

Just under 5 min today, 0-1 with 3 fouls. I gotta say, with a roster of 15 players, only 5 games, and this kind of playing time this whole thing seems pretty pointless for him. We'll see how the other games go.

More exciting news for ‪#BU‬ alum @JHolland_23. After playing with @OKCThunder this week, he'll join @MiamiHeat in Vegas next week!

Yay for Holland, nay for what team.

In this type of setting, best way for Holland to get noticed is just be as productive as humanly possible on a basketball court as he can in whatever limited minutes he gets.

The coaches are looking at other players and guys like Holland are filling out the roster- but if he can produce in the few minutes he can, it will only help him earn more minutes and looks

Holland played 17:30 minutes today, but went 0-3 (0 points) with 3 assists and 3 rebounds.

Not looking good for him at all.

Yeah that's not....doing what I said earlier lol. It's the opposite.

Hopefully it gets better for him.

Re: OT: John Holland

John was a lot more successful today (15 pts on 6-11 shooting), but he was the victim in the "spin-o-rama" video highlight:

Meh. It was a pretty good move I guess. I was expecting something more impressive.

Glad to hear he was productive today!
