Real stuff.......

Amanda Weaver who played on the women's basketball team has unfortunately been diagnosed with colon cancer. She was still taking classes at UHA towards her graduate degree in physical therapy. The team has organized a "Walk For Weaver" on 9/8 in the hopes of generating some money towards helping Amanda with her medical expenses. She is currently undergoing chemo in her home state of PA. Hoping that she can overcome this battle. There has been numerous media support as it has been on the radio as well as TV. The following is a little interview segment that was on CBS as well as a you tube video on Amanda:

Re: Real stuff.......

Today is the "Walk For Weaver" event. I saw tweets this morning that UNH women's basketball and UMBC Women's basketball are at Hartford supporting the event.

Real stuff indeed, health is most inportant thing. Thoughts are with Weaver and her family.

Very classy move on behalf of UNH and UMBC women's teams. Kudos to them.

Looks like the event was very successful and they raised over 45K for Weaver's family towards medical bills. She is at stage 3 cancer and has surgery later this month after going through the first round of chemo treatments. Hopefully she can get by this and finish up getting her doctorate at Hartford.

Link below is hearing Weaver speak at the event yesterday.

And I totally agree.....Kudos to UNH and UMBC for helping support the cause.
