OT: Ex-AE schools that have axed sports since joining CAA
Drexel: axed baseball, softball and volleyball
Hofstra: axed football Northeastern: axed football Towson: rumored to be axing baseball and men's soccer after this season Only cash rich Delaware has not cut programs since they joined the CAA. Not sure why this is interesting or worth posting other than the fact that these schools supposedly left for greener pastures yet the move has done nothing to improve these athletic programs (men's basketball specifically) and these 5 schools are something like 0-50+ with ZERO NCAA bids over 10+ seasons.......

A more complete picture would also be the inclusion of all the AE schools that have dropped sports since those teams left for the CAA. I don't think it is conference membership that is driving this trend. This is happening everywhere.

Maine - men's soccer and volleyball (added women's ice hockey) UMBC - field hockey (1 NCAA bid) You're right........a more complete picture. Vermont with 5 NCAA bids to the ex-AE programs' ZERO during the same time period. |

I'm still chuckling over Vermont's 5 NCAA appearances and ZERO for Delaware, Drexel, Hofstra, Towson and NU during that same time period..........

Hofstra should've had one. 7 years later I still don't know how you can beat George Mason twice the final 11 days of the season and get left out while they get in.

I agree with you, I certainly do not have any love for Hofstra, but they got majorly screwed by the committee.

Re: OT: Ex-AE schools that have axed sports since joining CAA
That was the 1 year I was enrolled at schoo, there. I remember for the game @ Hofstra I stood outside the Mack Sports Complex for like 3 or 4 hours to wait to let us in. We really got screwed that year.
