OT: Maine Women's BBall Scrimmage
For those of you wondering (and I know there's a lot of you...) the UMaine women's team had a scrimmage and they look to be well on their way to turning the ship around from the Blodgett years. Not going to go into details, but I just thought that what I saw last night was worthy of posting a brief note. I expect the team to be a mid pack AE team, anywhere 5-7 would be appropriate IMO.

He misspoke...it was an exhibition game, not a closed scrimmage.

True. D-3 play scrimmages unless their playing a D-1 school, so I should've said I went to one of those. I think all those are open, but hardly anyone puts them on the schedule, so you either have to know someone personally on the team, or follow someone on twitter to find out when those are. |

For any of you Maine people, looking at Southern Maine's website and I saw they have a transfer from U of Maine named Rebecca Knight. Did she play much her freshmen season (last year) @ U Maine, and if she did, how was she??

I wouldn't say "absolutely".......I'm not sure if Blodgett recruited ANY D-1 players while she was there. That being said, Knight should flourish at the D-3 level as like most native Maine players she is very well rounded and has a good understanding of the game. She was too slow for D-1 IMO.

If any of you Maine fans care, Southern Maine (where Rebecca Knight transfered to) was picked to finish 1st in the LEC this year receiving 7 of 8 first place votes and they start their season later on today.
