Re: SEASON OPENER: Vermont @ Siena 11-9
Great win for UVM on the road - the Catamounts did a tremendous job in the second half defending the Free Throw Line - limiting Siena to 6 of 17 FTs in the 2nd half in a 54-53 win. That's a BIG stat!!!!
The secret to success is the little things - keep it going UVM ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: SEASON OPENER: Vermont @ Siena 11-9
I see the transfers in our program usually start slow, maybe even a full season, and have a big game here and there. Compare MoJo's Jr to Sr., the same with Chris Holm & Matt Glass. Now Trey has only 1 year but has much more expieence so he may show up sooner. Yes,they will not have the impact of McGlynns daggers but in all fairness 4 did have some games were he was ice cold scoring. I see Rugg and Oday being a two headed monster for opponents - that will be a new wrinkle from last years team

Re: SEASON OPENER: Vermont @ Siena 11-9
If Anosike even shoots 50% from the FT line then Siena wins. Shooting 2/11 is atrocious. Really too bad he's so bad from the line because he's such a good player otherwise. He's going to cost Siena other games shooting like that- its a no-brainer to send him to the line.
Our defense was good last night though. Last years OD had 24pts, this year only 10.

Re: SEASON OPENER: Vermont @ Siena 11-9
I really like Anosike but he's not a go to scorer. 10 pts, 17 reb, 3 blks, 4 stls. He dominates every defensively. Had a very nice block on rugg. Sienna needs a go to scorer from the perimeter. Anosike can still get his down low but late in games you want the ball in a guards hands.

Re: SEASON OPENER: Vermont @ Siena 11-9
The SG position is a problem. I think Rusin will do a good job but Blue hasnt shown anything yet besides not playing out of control. He still makes dumb decisions on the court but they are in control dumb decisions. It's not the loss of four that hurts but the loss of bald and four. We would be in much better situation with either of them and having rusin come off the bench. It will be interesting to see who we have at SG moving forward. I'm not sold that kilpatrick can become a SG yet.

Re: SEASON OPENER: Vermont @ Siena 11-9
I think the thing that impressed me about O'day the most was the 2 blocks on Anosike. Thats a tough matchupu for anyone let alone a freshmen. O'day did a nice job at holding his ground.
