Good. Not good that he's not playing against UConn, but good Crenca is going to be back soon.

Northeastern is big as well- we need him.

Looks like O'Day is going to start in this game. I have no objections.

Yeah, but there goes the "the only player in the nation to lead his team in scoring without starting a game" possibility.

UCONN MEN'S BASKETBALL: Gameday caspule vs. Vermont

Quote:
MEN’S BASKETBALL GAMEDAY VERMONT at No. 23 UCONN
When: Tonight, 7 p.m. Where: Gampel Pavilion, Storrs Records: Vermont 1-0, UConn 1-0 TV: SNY Radio: WTIC 1080 Keep an eye on ‰Tough Cats. Vermont is a perennial power in the America East with some NCAA tournament pedigree. It’s also coming off a season-opening, 54-53 win at Siena, a tough place to play. “They know how to win, they’re coached very well,” said Kevin Ollie. “They execute their offense and they’ve got speed. They’re active. I love the make-up of their team.”

‰Mansfield connection. Vermont freshman Ethan O’Day, a 6-9 forward, hails from Mansfield and was a teammate of Tyler Olander’s for a year at E.O. Smith High. The two grew up right around the corner from each other and are good friends.

Re: Vermont @ UConn 11-13

Like potentially giving O'Day the start.

Rugg could feel more comfortable and be a nice scoring option coming in as 6th man.

We kept it under 20 when they had Kemba, Jeremy Lamb & Oriakhi- we damn well better keep it under 20 tonight!

(Of course, Fjeld & Glass combined to score 50pts and they are gone so.....)

Becker said he was giving the start to O'Day because it was a special homecoming game for him and his family.

Anybody know if Four ever started when there was a "homecoming" game for him?

I don't think Four started a single game last year.

If you can't watch on SNY or ESPN3, you may have some free options.

(warning, there are some popups to close when you first open the sites. Also, don't download any plug in... that's just an ad and will close in 30 seconds. Make sure you click the flash stream)

Those may or may not work, but it's worth a shot!

Re: Vermont @ UConn 11-13

As far as Four never starting last year...did we play in the Maryland, Southern Jersey/PA area last year. If so I don't remember. Brendan Bald is from the same area and since he was an upperclassmen and played defense he'd be more likely to start when in his backyard over Four. Or the other theory is that Becker refused to cave to Four's Dad.
