Vermont @ UConn 11-13
With UConn shocking Michigan State today, this could be the game of the year. I'm no fool, Vermont needs to have a perfect game here to pull it off. We've got nothing to lose though!
LET'S GO CATS!!! |

Can't wait to watch the team that has the best chance to make the NCAA Tournament.

Re: Vermont @ UConn 11-13
For those of you who won't be attending the game like Hoop Cat, UConn actually has a very fair priced subscription $9.95. Not taking my chances with the the ESPN3 Blackout.

Re: Vermont @ UConn 11-13
Our guards are going to need to play really well and be strong with the basketball. Shabazz Napier is as talented as any PG in the country, and Boatright is amazing as well. UVM is going to need all its guards- Sandro, Rusin, Blue, and Elbaum in this one. Need to protect the basketball. Napier and Boatright could easily get 10+ steals combined.
UConn's stregth is guard play- but they are pretty young/inexperienced up front this year. Hopefully Crenca can play in this one- could really use his minutes. Should be an interesting game. If we can somehow play at our pace and keep Napier/Boatright from completely killing us we might be able to keep it close. However, that means we have to play much sharper on offense than we did against Siena- that type of start will not fly against a team like UConn. UConn also may be jet lagged returning from Germany. Hopefully we can surprise them and catch them sleeping on us.

Re: Vermont @ UConn 11-13
I'm hoping that after seeing the first part of the Siena game tape the UConn players felt they had better things to think about and remain disinterested. If we get a team game as good as the UNC game in the NCAA tourney with a little better shooting, there is a chance.

Re: Vermont @ UConn 11-13
There is a blackout map up on ESPN3. Appears to only be blacked out in CT, southern NY (NYC, Westchester, LI), most of NJ, some of MD...aka the places that get (or are eligible to get) SNY on cable. Pretty much anyone north of the MA/CT border (and the parts of NY extending north of an invisible extension of that border) should be in the clear.

Re: Vermont @ UConn 11-13
Yep...that's what I said with the Ohio St. game...we almost nearly did it with it being a 15pt game with a few minutes to go in the game. Late spurt by Ohio St. put them over 20.
Nothing to lose...see if you can sneak up on them.

Re: Vermont @ UConn 11-13
For what it's worth (A lot from Vermont's perspective). UConn is now ranked 23 in the nation. Hopefully this gives our guys incentive to give all they have tomorrow! Stoked!

Re: Vermont @ UConn 11-13
Becker says Crenca will not play tomorrow, but will play at Northeastern Saturday.
