Re: America East Gameday: 11/12
I'd go with BU but with Billy Baron now at Canisius that could even things up a bit. Additionally, Canisius has a couple transfers on their roster but I don't if they are eligible to play this season or have to sit out.

Re: America East Gameday: 11/12
This is a game I'm really interested in, because Canisius has quite a few high D1 transfers now eligible, not just Billy Baron. They have two bigs, including one from Kansas State, and a couple guards/wings, as well as a returning all-conference guard. Their size should give BU fits inside, if they don't settle for jump shots. Canisius plays a few AE teams this year (also SB and UMBC) so this should give some idea as to how teams match up against a bigger opponent.....UMBC should get their first win; Eastern head coach used to be at UMBC under Randy Monroe, and is re-building that program. Shouldn't be close!

Re: America East Gameday: 11/12
BU about to lose to Canisius. Billy Baron the story for Canisius, 21pts, 8 assists, 6 boards. Looks like DJ Irving and Papale had nice game for BU, 20pts and 17pts.

Re: America East Gameday: 11/12
Terriers lose by 8. We're going to have a major problem with size this year.
We didn't play badly - Canisius made a lot of tough shots and we couldn't stop them inside. Billy Baron is obviously pretty good. Papale is a hell of a shooter |

Yep. When Dom Morris grabs the same amount of boards as Maurice Watson- 1- that's a problem.
Terriers are still pretty talented though, but again, size.

Re: America East Gameday: 11/12
70-52 win vs Eastern (Pa.)...
The Good Ryan Cook: looked great tonight...team was infinitely better with him on the floor. Brett Roseboro: Great rebounder, but needs to finish the easy looks. Malik Garner: Not going to be a scorer this year, but he'll make the team better when he's on the floor. Aaron Morgan: Will become a great AE PG one day...very mature, confident. Probably will average around 8 pts 5 asts this season. The Okay Chase Plummer: Looked very sloppy tonight, but I'm not concerned. Joe Getz: Athletic freak who energizes the team...was a terror for Eastern on the press. Adrian Satchell: Looked serviceable tonight, although he still has trouble finishing painfully easy looks. The Bad Brian Neller: Couldn't hit a single three tonight (0-6), but he was solid inside the arc (3-5). He needs to take more 15 ft jumpers. Jarrel Lane: Turnovers weren't a huge problem for Lane tonight, but when he was on the court the offense was terribly stagnant. UMBC might have been outscored by Eastern while he was on the floor. Oh, and he still can't shoot. The Ugly Nate Basalyga: Was completely outmatched by Jimmie Willis, a 6-4 junior for Eastern. Willis finished with 9/9, mostly against Basalyga, while Basalyga recorded 2 rebounds and FOUR fouls in 10 minutes. Very disappointing. If Roseboro has foul trouble this year, we could be in trouble inside. The Missing in Action.. Quentin Jones: Hurt his ankle early, it looked like, after he had a sick alley-oop pass to Roseboro. Also hit a nice 3. Jamar Wertz: Street clothes Will Wise: Not in the building....? Jordan Wejnert: Played seven irrelevant minutes. This team will be fun to watch this year, but the streaky offense may be a problem. Only two games in, though, so hopefully it's not a theme. Oh, and I love the press Coach Thomas. Re: America East Gameday: 11/12
It seems that despite our small size we actually rebounded fairly well against Northeastern and Canisius. That could be a problem later on, but we'll see. We have solid rebounding players like Robinson, Nate D, Malik Thomas despite their small size. So even through Dom Morris has played horribly through two games, other players are picking up the slack. Rebounding was 34-30 in favor of Canisius. We outrebounded Northeastern I believe.
Foul trouble appears to be a much bigger issue through the first two games. We amassed 26 fouls against Canisius. They shot 26 free throws to our 9. Same thing happened against Northeastern. Some of it could be attributed to very aggressive defense and going for steals, but size is the biggest issue with this. I really wish Jones had landed a JUCO Center for next year. BU fans have to feel very good about every position except center, but it is a glaring weakness. |
