Rob Mansell- G
Jordan Reed - SF
Roland Brown- PF
Nick Madray -c

Would probably do some serious damage in AE Play. We might be back sooner than we ever thought possible.

If Nick Madray is as good as he seems, that line up I think could get this program up and running again. I think even with just Mansell and Reed playing together is pretty exciting to think about.

I'm wonder if Dempsey would play Madray and Roland at the same time. Dempsey seems like he wants a faster guard oriented game rather than 2 big men on the court. But I think that would be our best 5 players come next year.

Agreed... What will be important is showing some level of consistency (6-10 wins this season) in order to retain all of our current players. The important thing going forward will be depth. I think 6-10 is feasible this season, especially if we find a way to knock off Penn who looks pretty horrendous thus far.

Penn does look bad, but they kept all there games close besides at Delaware. If we can knock them off on the road it should give us confidence playing are next two games at home.

Dempsey has said multiple times he wants to get up and down the floor, so I think a smaller (and quicker) starting five with only one true big man is only logical. Rebounding might be a concern for most teams if they want to have that style of play, but Reed is as active on the boards as any forward or center, so, thankfully, they've held their own on the glass despite running four "guards" out there a lot of the time.

Madray, from what I've read (mostly quotes from his coaches) and seen in some short YouTube clips, seems very perimeter-oriented offensively, and that's not a bad thing. I think any time you can get a big man to bring his defender out of the paint, particularly with guys like Reed and Mansell being so adept at slashing, you're going to have a great opportunity to score some easy buckets.

As for the future starting five, I think Bing11 essentially nailed it. Moquete running the point, Mansell and Reed acting as scoring guards, Madray at forward, and Brown acting as a more traditional post-player at the other forward position, or center.

It's certainly exciting to think about, so long as guys like Reed stay at Binghamton and Madray pans out. Even without Mansell this year the team has been competitive. For those who have seen them a handful of times already this year, the improvement, IMO, has been quite noticeable in the short period of time. Dempsey has already won me over with his coaching and recruiting.

Not really... Madras seems like a perimeter oriented 6'9" who I'd polished on the offensive end. Billings was a rough around the edges 7'1 who was a game changing shot blocker and defender
