Re: UVM @ Harvard 11/27

Recently someone made the comment that Sandro is the best point guard Vermont has had since TJ. Quickly another poster said "what about Trimboli." It's an interesting comparison because they both came in as shooting guards and then took over the point guard position. Obviously Trimboli's numbers are tremendous but the one thing that Sandro has over Trimboli is his ability to close out games. Last season he hit the big shot to finish Hartford off in the conference semi-finals, earlier this season he hit the driving lay-up to finish off Siena, and tonight he hits the corner three to end Harvard's comeback (credit to Rusin for recognizing that Sandro wanted that shot). Trimboli only hit one late game shot of importance and that was in the CBI tournament his senior year. Otherwise he never could hit the big one even though the ball was always in his hands in the late game situations.

great win.... the fact that we have such a strong 10 man rotation is unbelievable.....and should cause trouble in the A EAST!

Re: UVM @ Harvard 11/27

Once again our free throw shooting pulls through for us! 80% tonight. Both Sandro and Luke have only missed 1 free throw on THE SEASON. GREAT GAME!

Happy w/ the leagues overall performance so far. UVM, UA, SBU are all good. UMBC and Binghamton don't totally suck as much as in past few years. If BU and Maine could step it up just a bit (they both have the talent to do so) we will end up with a decent OOC season.

I'm pretty sure both players have hit more clutch shots at the end of big games than you have mentioned. Sandro did it multiple times last year. Trimboli I'm sure has hit the big shot of some big conference games which matter more than the siena and harvard game this year. That being said you dont even put them on the same boat when talking about clutch. Sandro has ice running through his veins and is a very clutch player. Trimboli is not clutch at all. That is the one knock on Trimboli is that he wasn't clutch. It's too bad we didnt have a different player to close out games when Trimboli played. You couldnt really give the ball to Marqus with his foul shooting. I still think Sandro has a long ways to go to be mentioned with Trimboli but it looks like he will have a very good year this year.

I think Luke apfeld should be looked at as one of our best players. He had a good game today and could of done a lot better if it wasnt for some ticky tack fouls in the second half. I thought both of them were bad calls.
