Crenca not playing is a disappointment. His back must be pretty messed up. Not good to see him 1 game and not the next. We should wait until conference play atleast for him. He needs the rest.

Re: UVM @ Harvard 11/27

Another great win for the Cats, I didn't think we would have only lossed 1 game at this point in the season. That one loss was to UConn, this team is very good. Vermont is always a great road team, but this year they seem to be even better. Give credit to the coaching staff for pulling all of these new parts together in the off season. Becker is doing a great job. Although sometimes I look at the guys we have in the game halfway through the first half and scratch my head, he never lets me down. Good job coach, you clearly know much more about winning basketball games then I do!

As a side note, I love seeing Elbaum get some minutes. Terrible shooter, but he really brings so much more to the table. How many PGs have you seen that defend the ball like Josh does?

Re: UVM @ Harvard 11/27

AWESOME GAME!!!!!!! One of the best basketball games that will be played in New England all year.

One of the most enjoyable games I've seen us play. 73% FG in first half, 48pts scored. Fun stuff.

That Harvard team is good. Saunders/Rivard/Chambers all very impressive. If they had Casey & Curry back they would be ranked again. As they are now, still should win Ivy.

Great team game. Sandro killed it, Voelkel....those two are the calmest guys on the court. I will be legitimately sad when Voelkel graduates. Rugg was great. Luke was awesome, despite getting whistled for phantom calls....Elbaum had his hands all over the ball. Kilpatrick looked good, Blue & Rusin were solid.

When Josh plays his role he is great. The Yale game was the best I'd ever seen him play. You need guys like him coming off the bench. This is a true team.

Sandro and Elbaum are the only two players on our team that can handle the ball against defensive pressure. Elbaum protects the ball well and gets us into our offense, and can drive. Blue is most effective catching on the wing and looking to attack/shoot- same goes with Rusin.

Elbaum is also an excellent defender- he had a bunch of tipped balls where I'm not sure if he even got credited with the steal. He has good hands and saved a ball from going out of bounds and kept a posession alive.

Elbaum has come a long way...I love the way the kid is playing now. I'd love for Kilpatrick to find more time, but it won't be at the expense of Elbaum.

Hopefully when we play some of the weaker OOC teams Kilpatrick can get in for more extended minutes.

Becker and staff are doing a tremendous job. This team is very selfless and is a pleasure to watch. Love the way the team is buying in defensively as well.

Yep, and there isn't a player more happy to play that role either. Kid is always upbeat and does what he's asked to do.

Not surprising if that's the typical whistle they get.

Man.....

Happy to get out of there with the win, even though we outplayed them for much of the game.

Luke played great. Both Luke and O'Day got hit with 2 brutal foul calls each. Really limited their time.

O'Day's jump hook is a thing of beauty.

Great win for the Catamounts and a Big win for the AE

FT defense was the deciding factor holding Harvard to 21 of 32

All kidding aside - super job by UVM!!!!

Re: UVM @ Harvard 11/27

I was just looking at Harvard's OOC schedule and they loaded up this year....obviously assuming Casey/Curry would be playing and they would be ranked again.

This has the potential to be a very good RPI win. Harvard has games remaining against UConn, California, St. Mary's and Memphis. Not to mention no gimmes with Boston College, Fordham, BU, Holy Cross, and Rice. They have already played UMass (L), St. Joe's (L), and Manhattan (W).

Re: UVM @ Harvard 11/27

Per Rivals, Wesley Saunders chose to attend Harvard over USC, San Diego State, and Colorado. I know Rivard chose over Georgia Tech and Stanford (and us). Siyani Chambers probably had some high profile offers as well.

Those three were very talented. Rivard is probably one of the best shooters in the country. Rusin/Elbaum did a solid job on him- but if he got open for an inch it was trouble. We did put Voelkel on him down the stretch in crunch time to shut it down.

Smith was a big time recruit for Harvard as well.
