Yes, I was thinking the same. I could hear Becker on the telecast last night working the ref's and fighting for his players ( especially when Rugg nearly had his jaw busted). He is becoming a very solid coach and getting max out of this squad

I thought that the refs' calls favored Harvard for the most part, with what seemed like the occasional make-up call for UVM.

I wouldn't mind having Laurent Rivard on our team..

Anyway, great team win for the Cats.

Speaking as someone who was there, the calls did favor Harvard. Harvard had two advantages that they ultimately weren't able to capitalize on- FT attempts and Vermont having to play both Apfeld and O'Day limited minutes due to both picking up early fouls. Apfeld picked up his 4th foul with 9 min to play in the second half- and he was playing great.

First half there were a lot of phantom ticky-tack calls. Refs seemed to do a better job in the second half whistling when there was actual contact- but there was one foul call on Clancy in particular that was brutal.

Whatever..it's never going to be perfect, and not the worst I've seen (George Mason/UVM at Patrick)

Yeah, how did we miss a kid named Laurent Rivard from Montreal

Does anyone know what the official status is with Crenca? I know we're usually pretty quiet about injuries, just wonder why he wasn't able to go. Last night's foul trouble to both Luke and Ethan is a perfect example of how much Crenca can help provide front court minutes.

Hopefully the big fella can go in his homecoming game this weekend at URI.

Announcer's described it as a bulging disk. This type of injury is very unpredictable. It may not always be causing pain. It depends on how badly it's bulging and pressing on the nerve. I aggravated mine simply by standing up out of a chair.

* Trey Blue is shooting 45% from 3 now. I really, really like the addition of Blue to this team. He really knows how to pick his spots on the court and when to shoot. He's doing a tremendous job fitting into our system and really contributing. He's not very tall but he's strong and quick and can drive to the basket. We're very fortunate to have been able to add him so late.

*When Voelkel drives the lane, he drives so strong/powerful that it creates so much space to the basket- it's seriously like everyone just gets out of the way. He did that a couple times last night and either got fouled or created an open shot for a teammate.

*Sandro was phenomenal last night- best game of his career (though Hartford AE tourney game last year was my favorite for obvious reasons) which we all know- but coming into this game he was shooting below 30% FG but nobody even mentioned/noticed it because the kid is such a good shooter and so smart and always in control and takes such GOOD shots that you knew it was going to start going in. Tremendous player, so calm.

The TV guys said bulging disc.

I expect his participation will be spotty at best this season.
