I get SBU out of top 25 with 16 points, but Albany in top 25 with 68 points ahead of UVM with 18 points? Who makes this list?

Will Brown is a pollster.

I won't say Albany isn't a quality team this year. And if SBU/UVM were ahead of them in that same top 25, I'd agree that the placement is appropriate. But UVM should be there, no one else yet.

Re: Mid-Major Top 25....

They have 2 wins OOC against teams at or above .500 (Washington is one, Wagner the other). The other wins were against dreadful programs.

And doesn't explain away the dismantling of the Great Danes by Vermont. Sorry - no explanation outside of uninformed or bias pollsters explains that.

And trust me - as an SBU fan I don't want any team up there but us.

Re: Mid-Major Top 25....

Only a Stony Brook fan would have a problem with seeing Albany ranked in that poll. It's like they are the all mighty team and has dominated the conference for years and years. Yes Will Brown is on the panel and gets 68 votes and uses all of them on his own team!

no it is actually the fact that Albany has two OOC wins against teams above .500 and lost to vermont by 25... he actually wrote why he didnt agree with it and acknowledged sbu should be out.

Hey SBU lost to UVM - UVM lost to Maine - Maine lost to Binghamton so therefore Bing should be in the top 25 ahead of UA (LOL)

It's a damn popularity poll run with a bunch of coaches spending about 2 minutes to make their picks. Get over it it means nothingW

Until your team is in it - then it means something ;-)

Come now, it's basic homerism. And to criticize that post for something that happened 2 hours later is a little desperate.

When SBU is in the poll in 3 weeks and Albany is out, we'll see who babies about it.

Hey, I think SBU should be rated ahead of UA but they're not so live with it for a couple of weeks.

You would have really helped yourself by beating UVM but you didn't

Hell UA even has more road wins then SBU, now.

As usual... Lost of talk... Your style... Do something first... Beat Washington or something.... Instead you play Mt. Ida... Yet you talk about weak schedule while counting that win...

I mock you openly!

Re: Mid-Major Top 25....

So I had a massive rant put together - and of course I closed the window by accident.

BUTTT - here's the gist
1. SBU's overall OOC SOS was MUCH better than Albany's (current overall SOS ranked in bottom 4 in D1 by Ken Pom). And before you say it, we played Bingo too.
2. NO reputed rpi/ken pom system uses the Mount Ida win. RealTime RPI doesn't even have it listed. However, Albany's double win vs. South Carolina State (KenPom ranked 346/347) is. Btw, you guys trailed to them by 5 at the half at home.
3. No one discredits your Washington win, but if one win / loss should matter so much, shouldn't the head to head loss to UVM by 25 matter more to the pollsters? Esp when COMPARING both programs?
4. In my mind, at least after tonight, NO ONE belongs in the top 25. Road wins appear hard to come by this season in the AEC. Should be fun to watch, but no one should be crowned as favorite until they win one at either SBU, Albany, or Vermont. Because frankly at this point it sounds like getting even one of those may be enough to end the season in the top 2.

End of story.

Btw, how do I lost of talk? Very confused here.

I mean, I'm a Cambridge trained sociologist, so I know English to some degree...must be cockney and just didn't translate it yet.

I mocked you openly back!!
