Decided to start a thread for anyone who realizes how important this game is for Bing.

Granted, this season is purely about setting the building blocks for a competitive future, but I didn't expect to have 2 wins coming into tonights game. Given that Penn has been struggling as well, if Bing can grab this game on the road, we might have a shot at .500 or better before we play Michigan (Who the hell scheduled this game). I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch, however I will say that I am extremely excited to see how Dempsey & crew come out tonight.

Lets home they come to play.

He should never shoot the 3 ball though, I think he air balled it every time he tried. But I take a double double every game.

Yeah, he's got no jump shot from what I've seen so far, but that can be improved upon. His leaping ability and tenacity on the glass are second to none though.

Completely agree with you guys.. but he bring so much energy and its nice to finally see that while watching Bing.

Just to make a comparison (and feel free to disagree) but I feel like he has a very similar game style to what DJ Rivera had while I was able to watch him. DJ couldn't shoot from the outside either (maybe not as bad as Reed looks, but take into consideration that DJ was a junior at that point). Rivera also sucked from the FT line.

What bothers me the most, more than missed threes or missed jumpers, are missed FTs. If you make it to the line at a rate thats top 50 in the nation... PLEASE hit the free throws more than 50% of the time

But the best thing is he seems to know it and not take them. In the highlight clip you posted earlier he took close range, makeable shots.

That's when you know a kid is mature as a player- he isn't out there jacking 3s just because he's "supposed to" or wants to. He's taking shots he can make.

Rivera had a very nice mid range game. He wasnt a 3 pt shooter but he was polished offensively. His athleticism got him a lot of open jumpers

I think he is a much more similar player to Maine's Justin Edwards (only a year ahead of him). He's probably a bit stronger than Edwards, but Edwards is an even more freakish athlete. Both play with energy, athleticism, and play far bigger than they are. Both are listed as guards but really aren't, neither can really shoot the ball, and both do just about all of their scoring around the bucket.


Rivera had much more of a jumper and, although not a three point shooter, had a WORLDS better shot than Reed has right now...

Really like Reed a lot so far.
