Re: AE Gameday 12/1
Maine was only down 79-73 with a minute left, but Duq scored 8 straight in the last min., 87-73

Re: AE Gameday 12/1
Maine should be playing tight man to man defense, pressing, running off of turnovers and rebounds, and running some variation of a ball control offense in all other cases. There is no reason to be giving up 80+ points.
Of course, that requires discipline and strong coaching and well.....

Re: AE Gameday 12/1
The UNH game was another heart attack. Giving up a 17-0 run was ridiculous, and the unforced turnovers and sloppy play was pretty bad at times.
What's the perfect remedy for a team giving up 46% from the field? Play UNH and enjoy their riduculous 3's lowering your overall percentage allowed. But, a win is a win. At this point I'll take it and they need it. |

Re: AE Gameday 12/1
Just back in from the UNH game and it was a the best of times and the worse of times I believe they say. The first 15 mins of the game UNH looked great, they were much more athletic then Brown, bigger, and up 14pts. Then momentum seemed to swing towards Brown who is a very methodical team. It a appeared that the zone along with a combination of battling UConn two nights before had taken its toll on the Cats. But in the end they pull it out and get a win they needed and should have had! While it was not pretty I will take it and now a day off tomorrow before battling CCSU on Wednesday night.

Rhode Island would be one of the better teams in the AE but I'm not sure they would win it. |

Re: AE Gameday 12/1
Not going to lie, this loss hurts....
UVM came out flat, soft and played with no sense of urgency. This IS concerning going forward, not sure how we go from playing the best game of the season @ Harvard to laying an egg like this. Our defense is more concerning to me then our offense. Shots just don't fall some days and we rely on our defense and rebounding to keep up in the game. Don't kid yourself, after the 5 minute mark of the first half this team was never in the game. Silly turnovers, terrible defense and simply bad basketball...they'll be just fine I'm sure but this will leave a bad taste in my mouth for a bit. Still 4-2 is a better record then I had anticipated at this point in the season. We took a step back today.

Re: AE Gameday 12/1
Congrats Stony Brook and UNH for taking care of business and congrats to BU for picking up a solid road win.
Most impressive game though may be Binghamton's loss against Mt. St. Mary's- losing by 1. MSM recently beat George Washington at GW. Good effort.

Re: AE Gameday 12/1
My first Bing match in a couple years. Bing should have been able to hold on, but understandable loss for a young team. Dempsey's a good coach and they already have more depth than the past 2 years...Reed will be a good AE player...Bing was down 69-63 with 48 seconds left and had the last shot down 1. A more experienced team pulls it off. Game was called tightly so it should've been a foul at the end but it has to be obvious at the buzzer. Good effort and nice future ahead for Bing.

Re: AE Gameday 12/1
Unforgettably we lost, but I will not take this as a bad loss even with MSM record. They are a great team even with their record, I know they would win the AE. I would rather lose to a team like MSM rather than someone like URI.
