Re: AE Gameday 12/1
Great win by Ualbany. I was rooting for ya all over ESPN conversation tonight. This was a great day for the AE, likely the best night since I became a College ball fan in 2009-10.
For me the best win is UMBC over towson. Considering both of these teams struggled greatly last year to see UMBC beat towson is great. UMBC is improving and so its binghamton. All of the sudden the AE is showing signs of life and I'm buying into it

Re: AE Gameday 12/1
My friend went to Siena and he wants that coach to be fired immediately. LOL

Re: AE Gameday 12/1
I was unable to see this game at work, but I stopped listening shortly after half time. To many TO's at bad times. They killed their own momentum. I actually thought they might lose this game. I didn't expect them to play that BAD. They would have lost to alot of teams playing like they did. It seems we come out and play like this a couple of times a year. See UNH and Binghamton games last year. Disappointing that they don't seem to understand that they can't just show up and win games.
On a positive note the conference did go 6-3 today. |

Will be disappointed if we drop any of the others OOC before conference play starts. We have a pretty tough stretch to begin conference play.

Re: AE Gameday 12/1
A few interesting items out of UA
1. In their 69-56 Albany Cup win over Siena the Danes had only 2 players in double figures but had 1 with 9 pts and 3 others with 8 pts it is nice to see the scoring spread about. 2. An interesting stat out of UA - nondescript redshirt freshman Peter Hooley has quietly dished out 20 assists with only 5 turnovers so far this year for a nice 4-1 ratio. I hope he can stay consistent. 3. Sam Rowley is a player quietly making strong contributions with just over 7 ppg and 5.3 rpg in just under 22 min pg |

Re: AE Gameday 12/1
SBU a little disappointing yesterday. Bracey and Mcalister still do nothing for me. Rouse comes up big again. tommy was just a game changer. pikiell took him out of the game and all of a sudden it is a one point game. SBU didnt really get the ball to warney even though it "'looked easy" for him when he did get it. granted he missed a couple. jackson a little one dimensional. coley cant seem to get it going. and the worst part about yesterday was SBU helping off shooters to stop unathletic white guys who didnt even beat his man....torture
as far as standings. SBU right now doesnt look like a one or two seed. the league is looking to be pretty good. Then again SBU didnt look to good last year early at this time either. they are 5-2(wont count ida) with a loss to sacred heart bad and uconn whom needed to hit 8 straight 3s to win. and a tough win agains a good enior laden canisus team. not to worried about our position right now. just need to beat st. francis and play tough against maryland, seton hall and manhattan. If that happens i will be happy. Great job albany. will brown earning that extension!!! |

Re: AE Gameday 12/1
Also add that this was the second time we've played really bad already this season- first was Siena game, but amazingly we found a way to get a win- though Siena helped us out quite a bit by their own ineptitude. But basically ever possession of the first half in that game was turnover or missed shot. Siena is proving to be pretty bad though, despite having some talented players. Not going out on a limb saying URI is a much better team than Siena though- thus our loss.

Re: AE Gameday 12/1
I'll take 6-3 on the day, would have been great to get a few more but I'll take it. Interested to see if the AEast can continue to perform well for another month or so.

It is great that even with home court advantage in 2 of the 3 games they are 0-3. I always remind their fans that I see in person their maac home and away splits last season. This season they can't even win home games, but fortunately for them they get weak maac teams at home soon. |
