Raffa was a good scorer for UA and has been for CC. But, he doesn't pass, screen, defend or rebound much.

He's a talented player and good scorer and would have been a very good AE player most likely, but he's not 26ppg good unless he's on an awful team.

He was covered by a 7'2" center who's currently second in the nation in blocked shots at 4.8 per game... and when the 7'2" guy was subbed out, he was replaced by an athletic 6'11".

He must have been really rattled by the guy. However, he did miss 4 shots with
the ball less than 2 feet from the rim and wide open.

So, now we know. If you want to stop Nwakamma just put your athletic 7 footers on him and block his shots. I'm guessing it only works in the OOC, though.

Ahhh Wren it is good to see your back to your oldself. I was worried about you my friend being some what positive towards Coach Herrion. You must have had a bit of the Christmas spirit but I see that now has passed. This might shock you and Fast you sadly is turning his back also on the program. But I was in attendance last night and still look at the glass as half full. We came in last night ranked 13th in the nation for our fg defense, 13th in the nation under Coach Herrion. Last night was a fluke at how bad our defense was. Defense and rebounding cost us that game. If we play defense the way we normally do we win by double digits. THere are pieces finally on this team. It has taken Herrion 8 years to level the house and finally get some pieces to build a new structure around. YOu both have to agree with me this team could easily be 7-1, 6-2. But I think you will be happy if you read today's Portsmouth Herald, here is the link....

Coach must have been reading the message board and all of your comments so he fell on his sword. As you and Fast get ready to begin the usual fire Bill Herrion rant that has become oh so common like people putting up Christmas trees in December. Please tell me where do you go if they fire Herrion and dont give me this a young hungry coach BS. We have gone with a top recruiter from a Power Conference in Coach Jackson who could recruit like hell but couldnt coach his way out of a paperbag. We have gone the Rah Rah hungry enthusiastic Div III guy in Phil Rowe who would speak about UNH basketall to anyone anytime and that turned out just wonderful. Where is this great white night that will turn this program around? Watching CCSU play and Coach Dickenman it made me wonder. He has been at CCSU for what 20+ years and has had some great years but also some lean years and that school stuck with him and it paid off. UVM stuck with BRennan for what 14 years before it finally paid off. Why not use that model for UNH. Give Billy sometime to build a quality program and see what happens. No more young coach crap, give me a name who is your great knight to save this program!

The fundamentals on this team suck. I'll start with any (yes, ANY) coach that understands you need guards that can score the ball to win in this conference. There are a TON of guards that can score the ball out there and make plays, and we can't get one? That is insane.

I'd also take ANY coach that understands that if you live and die by the three you will never make an NCAA Tournament or finish high in your conference. In this particular case, I at least wish we had people who could shoot three's.

I'm tired of watching a team turn the ball over 18 teams, shoot 50% from the line and take 25 3's a game. It's not the kind of basketball that wins and it's not the kind of basketball I want to watch. I don't believe in Herrion's substitution patterns, and I'm not sure I think his "old school" style is great for UNH.

I want a guy who understands what comes with "difficult" recruiting conditions at UNH ... that means if we cannot get a certain level of athlete, we could play a different brand of basketball. No winning is going to happen here until we get a coach who tries to build his coaching philosophy around UNH and not UNH around his philosophy.

If you want a name, hire any assistant from the Ivy League or Patriot League.

Maybe I'm missing something about living by the 3! For the most part we have not done that this year we have made a legit effort to get the ball inside to Pelcher who is a legit center! If your tired of watching a team that turns the ball over 18 times i hope you dont watch the Celtics, they turned it over 16 times last night. Wren the talent is there, they just need to put it together! What do you not like about his "old school" style, please dont tell me you believe in this everyone gets a trophy and playing time bs. We both know Herrion is going nowhere but I ll throw you a bone and say if he were to be let go which is not going to happen, an ivy league or patriot league guy does make sense.

If by "stuck with" you mean UVM didn't care about whether the basketball team won games or not and the coach was happy to get paid the $40K-$50K salary the school was offering and the coach was able to have a second job as a popular radio personality, then I guess you can say UVM "stuck" with Brennan, if that' how you want to call it.

Similar situation at UNH I suppose- ie UNH not really caring what mens basketball does- only difference is Herrion makes 4X-5X as much as Brennan ever did (as a coach).

What pieces are you talking about?

Next season, this team loses one of it's best offensive players (Ferg Myrick) and it's best defensive player (Chandler Rhoads). Plus some big man depth (Matagrano and Trotman)

Jordan Bronner
Matt Miller
Logan Mortenson
Patrick Konan
Chris Pelcher

is going to be an improvement?

Then, the team loses Bronner, Konan and Pelcher. I could see this team getting worse.
