Re: OT: Connecticut school shooting
Two towns and 30 minutes north from where I live, 1 town and 15 minutes east from where I go to school (Western Connecticut in Danbury). My 5 year old cousin lives in Newtown in that general area, but not sure whether or not she goes that school, hopefully she's safe, and thoughts to the friends and family for this completely unneccessary tragedy.

Re: OT: Connecticut school shooting
I live in Hartford but grew up in Danbury. My high school girlfriend lived in Sandy Hook and i went to high school with many people who lived in Newtown. My uncle still lives there. I have not heard of anyone I know being affected by this senseless tragedy and my thoughts and prayers go to the families and friends of those who were. All I keep thinking about are the wrapped Christmas presents under trees that will never be opened. I can't imagine any parent having to go through this. God bless us all this holiday season.

Re: OT: Connecticut school shooting
As I sit here this morning watching my 7 year old boy and 4 year old daughter play with some toys they got at Grandma's house last night, looking at their innocent faces, watching them enjoy their toys and just watching them be kids, I can't fathom one of them not being here anymore. I don't want to see it in my head, I don't want to feel it but my mind continues to wander to that scenario. It just won't go away. I don't understand. Why? How? Did this really happen????? Especially this time of year, when everyone is festive and families are ramping up to build holiday memories, this is just heart wrenching, disgusting and I still can't wrap my head around the whole thing. I really feel for everyone involved and that includes the many first responders who had to walk into that school.
