Terrible TO call...tough loss for SBU. Right there...

UA on the other hand beats Navy...Iati with 26. Team really played well...but we outrebounded them by 2 and held them under 40%...*two thumbs up*

Good game by SBU. They seem to be the best team in the AE right now, followed closely by Albany. Really BadTO call by pikiell.

Probably had his mind set on it and didn't realize that the defense wasn't set and his kids were pushing...I'm sure he was like WTF...FML after that one. Unfortunately sabotaged his own team.

These loses are the worst...right there and one tiny slipup and it costs you. Doesn't change my opinion that SBU right now is the best AE team...followed closely by UA/BU/UVM.

A valiant effort by a good SBU team, against a decent Seton Hall team, but once again, Pikiell does NOT know how to coach and win big games. Some of the classic mistakes made:

- Terrible TO in last 17 seconds, when his team had 4 on 2 numbers.
Why on earth burn the TO there????

- After SH makes mistake by using their foul-to-give with 13 seconds
left, SBU fails to attack basket until too little clock left in
game.

- With 5 point lead in 2nd half, guards take the air out of the ball,
when pushing and attacking basket was key to them getting back in
game (shades of AE Championship game @ Boston University 2 seasons
ago).

- Having McAllister bringing the ball up in 1st half, with Brenton
on the bench (Pikiell, what are you thinking dude??), got SH
right back in game.

Pikiell may contend in the AE, but his skills at coach will take him no farther beyond the AE at any point in time.

Colgate 74- Bing 47....umm, what? Not that I thought Bing would win but that margin is insane. Colgate is not very good.

In other games, Colgate clobbers Bingo and Iati sinks Navy. Was the report of an Iati injury false, or did he play thru it? 26 points and 38 minutes on the court.

Pikiell had to call the TO. Yes Coley had numbers but history tells us Coley has great ability but tends to get out of control. If he doesnt call a TO and coley dribbles it off he knee we would all be saying he should have called a TO.

Do you really think pikiell wanted McAlister bringing up the ball? hell no. He probably wanted to kill his guards who got lazy and didnt demand the ball.

I think pikiell coached a solid game. i question why in the hell he takes out bracey and puts in mcalister at the end but i guess it didnt make a difference. Warney played the worst game he has played all year. Tommy was in foul trouble and missed one or two chippies. not to mention coley missed two free throws. AJ had a 3 go in and out and then missed a mid range shot with 10 on the shot clock. a shot he made all night. To start picking apart pikiell would be silly.

I don't disagree with anything you said here. Yes, 1 or 2 breaks our way and we'd be popping the champagne cork. SBU is a good team, and I put it all on the coach to get them that extra play to win a game. Pikiell is a real good guy, I just think he's not a big time coach, and I guess, that's why his final stop will be SBU. He would benefit greatly from the baseball equivalent of a "bench coach", since he really does not know how to finish off big, winnable games. He needs to spend time practicing and rehearsing critical game time decision making, or have someone help him during the game remind him of how to execute during these times.

Well just another loss by SBU. It doesn't matter to me that they played a big east school. This team has the talent to win games, I just hope the coaching can step up.
