Why on earth burn the TO there????

- After SH makes mistake by using their foul-to-give with 13 seconds
left, SBU fails to attack basket until too little clock left in
game.

- With 5 point lead in 2nd half, guards take the air out of the ball,
when pushing and attacking basket was key to them getting back in
game (shades of AE Championship game @ Boston University 2 seasons
ago).

- Having McAllister bringing the ball up in 1st half, with Brenton
on the bench (Pikiell, what are you thinking dude??), got SH
right back in game.

Pikiell may contend in the AE, but his skills at coach will take him no farther beyond the AE at any point in time.
Doug grinding the ax again i see.

really classic coaching mistake? allowing mcalister to bring up the ball in the first half? i am pretty sure it was not by design considering it mcalister never does it. i blame the guards for not getting the ball like they do every other possession.

Calling a TO with 17 seconds left to set up a score and set up his defense not to mention coley dribbles off his knees once per game and has been known to lose control at times. Was is a good TO maybe not was it terrible no.

SBU fails to attack the basket in last 13 seconds. They called a play and got the ball inside to Warney who made a play right out of bounds. then when they got the ball in bounds tommy attacked the basket and lost it. Did you actually watch the play? they tried to attack the basket...TWICE!

Bench coach? I guess you dont know Jay Young who is a great Xsa and Os guy who has a very good basketball background.

Then again this all from the guy who criticized Pikiell for red shirting Tommy when he was hurt and giving him an extra year of eligibility.

Not grinding ax, just a rabid fan, and I see the same 'ol, same 'ol. Any way you slice it, it was a horrific TO, and was totally poor execution at end of game (ahem, coach gets credit for that). I don't know Jay Young at all, and am not dissing him - just saying that Pikiell could use a "game manager" assistant in close games, because he really doesn't shine during those times. As far as Brenton goes, without question, he's the BEST player to ever wear a Seawolves uniform. My red shirt comment from 2 years ago was that I didn't think it was fair to put a player on the 5 year college plan for selfish coaching reasons, especially since his basketball playing days will end upon graduation. I'm happy he's still around, believe me, but I hope Brenton feels the same after graduating at age 23.

Re: AE Gameday 12/28

NYC I will not disagree about the last 17 sec but The most important thing is to get a good shot but they did not. They tried to get the ball to warney and it was a terrible pass. Then tommy dribbles it of sedan halls foot and then of course the last shot. None were good shots. Would have liked them to try and score within 10 secs to give themselves another shot if they did miss which they did. Just poor execution down the stretch. Not sure who to blame but when all is said and done the brook is 8-3.

You can tell yourself that all you want but as lot of people have already pointed out it was a bad timeout. Poor situational decision.

Worrying about Coley dribbling the ball out of bounds? Coley is one of SBU's best players and was for much of the game SBU's only offense. Plus , Coley could have passed off, it was going to be a fast break after all- either make a layup or get fouled and go to the line.

Ultimately, SBU wound up passing up the shot it then could not get again 17 seconds later.

What player in there right mind, let alone with Brenton's competitive streak, is going to complain about being able to return for a fifth year so that he plays four HEALTHY years instead of being rushed back onto the court for what would have been a half of season of action in which he was never more than 70 percent healthy?

And what person in half a brain in this economy is going to complain about getting a FREE Master's Degree while getting another year of free college basketball? Brenton GRADUATED last summer, he's taking graduate classes now...

Warney is very good, and maybe it's just that the AE has been starved for true low-post players for a while now- but right now Warney is just a big kid with great size/knows how to score on the block when he seals his man, can hit boards, etc.

That's enough to be a very good big man in the AE- but if Warney is going to be an elite mid-major player he's got a lot of work to do on the skills aspect of being a big- post moves, footwork, jump hooks, etc. I think O'Day has much better overall skills right now- the key difference is Warney has 60-70 more lbs- which is crucial for a post player.

Right now Warney looks to be where Dallis Joyner was as a senior- which is pretty impressive. It's very easy to get excited about Warney though- he already has the size and the potential to be elite- but he needs a lot of work on big man skills before he gets to that level.

Re: AE Gameday 12/28

BU is getting handled by Belmont. They didn't score for the last 5 mins of the half, allowing 13 straight points. They trail by 16

Well, I just feel that kids are taken advantage of in college athletics (I know that I was....long story which I won't get into). Unless he is getting something out of it other than basketball, it doesn't benefit him. That said, I was not aware that he graduated on time (almost) and that he was pursuing a Master's Degree. Given this revelation, I would say that all parties involved are getting something out of this, and I'm glad for him as a student/athlete. I was under the impression that he was a 5th year Undergraduate.

Why doesn't Mt. Ida not count? I thought all DII and DIII games count as non-conference wins.
