AE Gameday 12/28

Stony Brook @ Seton Hall 7pm ESPN3

Binghamton @ Colgate 7pm

Albany @ Navy 7pm

Belmont @ Boston University 9:30pm- Central Florida Holiday Classic in Orlando, FL

All games are relative winnable w/ SBU and BU having the toughest match-ups. Hopefully conference can steal a few more W's in OOC play.

Re: AE Gameday 12/28

Beating Navy and Colgate would not be steals. Those are definitely teams at our level.

Belmont is good. If BU wins it, great. If BU wins by 10, they become my conference #1, unless SBU wins over SH. In that case, Salty's prediction might come true but with 2 teams @ 15-1.

Well that just shows your level of intelligence...how can a team who doesn't have a win over a team with a winning record become a #1 contender? Beating Belmont would be great but look at all the teams they have lost too. Don't make excuses for your statement just acknowledge it was a little to naive.

Re: AE Gameday 12/28

I'll have to say that SBU has looked better than BU so far, but BU has shown really fast improvement and if they win by 10 I'll stick by my prediction for conference play. BU has a bench full of good players and good coaching. They deserve respect.

Since you are being so obnoxious, TheSeawolfRoar, are you afraid that SBU has peaked too soon again and may miss their annual loss to UVM in the championship game this year?

While you are dreaming up your savage comeback, TheSeawolfRoar, remember that if you want to match wits with someone you should come at least half prepared.

Belmont is ranked 22 on pomery and 19 on the sagarin predictor. SBU has been better so far but if BU beats belmont by any score they should probably be the top contender. Who are the bad teams BU has lost to? Losing to Sacred heart is a much worse loss than any loss BU has.

Re: AE Gameday 12/28

LoL...since when did the outcome of one OOC game- Belmont/BU, of all games- become the deciding factor on who the favorite is?

Beating Belmont would be a great win for BU and the conference, but need to keep in mind SBU beat Canisius and BU lost to Canisius.

BU doesn't have any bad losses but their best win thus far is an OT win at home against Quinnipiac.

Just between you and me, I don't think BU has a chance of beating Belmont by 10, so it will probably be a moot point.

Some of you guys have to realize individual match ups and how teams match up are more important then how teams played against common opponents.

The game is also on SNY for those living in the NY/NJ/CT area.

Or Boston too and you have SNY, which I do.

Re: AE Gameday 12/28

I think Bing at Colgate will be a good match up for us. Colgate only has 3 d1 wins and lost it's last 6 games.

They kept it close against Albany which I will give them credit for, but other then that they struggle in most games like Bing.

Iati's achilles is sore http://blog.timesunion.com/collegesp...-awhile/14787/

The team took the bus to Annapolis this afternoon instead of flying, due to the weather.

Re: AE Gameday 12/28

Iati is such a big part of UA. This really stinks for his team. An inflammation of the achilles is very painful and won't go away without rest. UA would be better off resting him now rather than during the first UVM game. On the other hand, if he doesn't play against UVM that would be OK with me.

Re: AE Gameday 12/28

I have a tremendous amount of anticipation for the SB Seton Hall game tonight. It's an OOC game and should be meaningless, but it just isn't. SB had a big lead against UConn before tiring out and losing late. The team was down 20 to Maryland a week ago but staged a furious rally and were down 2 with under a minute to play. The team is poised to finally get "the win" over a bcs program. A win in a game like this might get us out next three or four star recruit.

Seton Hall has a bunch of injuries. The front court is especially thin. They will be jacking the 3, which they do well. Can SB defend the 3 better then they did against UConn and Maryland? If they do they should have a commanding advantage on the boards. Nice thing about this match up for SB is the formula stays the same. Make Seton Hall a one and done team and SB could pull this out.
