UVM-UNH Opener-Herrion Quotes
Some interesting quotes from Coach Bill Herrion in this morning's UNH Notebook about the up coming start to conference play with UVM at home and then a trip to take on SBU...
Herrion : "We're going to find out real quickly how we stack up, I guess" Herrion: "The difference between those teams and us is they've played in big games and won big games and play with a swagger." I think he is correct in terms of finding out what this team is made up because this thing could easily be 4-10 (0-2) going into next week's game at UMBC. I'll be in attendance for Wed's game but am not sure what to expect. Will Konan play? Will the bench play more then 5-6 mins so the starters are not playing every single min? Will we make an effort to feed Pelcher and then move without the ball when he has it? Can we rebound the basketball. Push it in transition? This is a very good basketball team were playing with it would be nice to pull an upset I realize that you can't really figure out how someone said something from reading a quote but it appears that Herrion is not enjoying life in Durham right now. |

Re: UVM-UNH Opener-Herrion Quotes
UNH has had-relatively conference- speaking very good success against us in the regular season over the past few years in large part because of their man-to-man defense defends the heck out of us, is physical, and UNH generally plays tougher than we do. When UNH is also making their shots, we've typically lost.
Hopefully we can wear them down with our depth and overall offensive execution (we have more weapons)- where I think our advantage over UNH typically is. This game will be a good barometer to see if we're ready for conference play or not.

Re: UVM-UNH Opener-Herrion Quotes
This a win UNH really needs bad to stop the bleeding. As you can read from the quotes it does not seem like happy times in Durham. Sad for a season that started with so much promise at least to some of us Wildcat fans.

Re: UVM-UNH Opener-Herrion Quotes
UNH always does play VT very tough, but even with the up and down play recently, I still think Vermont can win this one pretty easily (8+ pt win).
Can UNH get the ball to the frontcourt? Konan, Pelcher, Myrick combining for 45+ pts looks very good. Can UNH shoot better than 55% from the FT line? Can UNH stop jacking stupid 3's with 16 seconds left on the shot clock? Not sure if I'll make the game, but at the least should be a good start to conference play. |

Re: UVM-UNH Opener-Herrion Quotes
I will be there but the more I think about those quotes from Herrion the more I'm afraid if conference play does not go well at least .500 that this might not end well sadly in Durham.
