Not sure Hollywood could have written it any better than how it happened. Best basketball game I've ever been to, that's for sure.

Re: CAA RPI vs AEast RPI as of today
I happened to see Joe Lunardi had his bracketology up (didn't realize he had already done a couple already) and took a glance. It was done yesterday, prior to the Vermont loss but this is what he had...kinda interesting:
Vermont as a 15 seed Northeastern (leader of the CAA so far) as a 16 seed. So, checked out his December 11th bracket and he had this: Stony Brook as a 15 seed William & Mary as a 16 seed in the Play-in game Obviously, this is way too damn early and means absolutely nothing, but I think it shows where the conferences are today, and barring a major upset in the AEast Tourney, there's no way the AEast winner will be in the First Four games this year. Disclaimer - as I said, this means zero, especially so early in the year but it just further illustrates the point that the CAA has fallen drastically this year, which was the whole original point of this thread and comparing it to the fact that AEast has actually performed better this year than in the last couple of seasons.

LOL...I haven't been over there in a long time but yeah, they seem to have a "holier than thou" attitude about their conference and I love the fact they are on a downward spiral.

Re: CAA RPI vs AEast RPI as of today
The CAA went from the "It" mid-major conference to being among the bottom in one off-season. Shows how quickly things can change.

I don't think anyone here has any delusions that the AE is so much better than they are. The results of the past can not be changed. Whether the AE representative gets a 15/16 or play in game.....it is what it is. Last year was fun watching UVM play twice and represented the conference well. Whoever gets in at whatever seed I will root for. Would I love to see the conference improve over the years and draw a better seed? Of course. That being said I have MANY more things in my life to spend my time worrying about that than I guess you do. |
