Bucknell is Bucknell...they will go down for a bit, but they've sustained success much like Vermont. Lehigh still managed to beat Bucknell w/o McCollum. Still a solid squad...I think they'll continue to be good after he leaves.
I definitely believe Lehigh and Bucknell are still going to remain strong mid-majors and atop the Patriot, I just don't think they will be as obviously strong OOC/nationally as they have been.

With McCollum in Lehigh's lineup they could legitimately beat any team in the country on any night. That won't be the case when he's gone. It's really too bad he got hurt for his senior season.

Re: CAA RPI vs AEast RPI as of today

Ouch...CAA leader Northeastern lost last night to RPI #237 Georgia State, at home! Have to think they will drop quite a bit. Doesn't help them either that they lost to Maine, who lost to UNH. Kinda hurts their RPI...

So...just checked and according to RPIforecast, Mason dropped to #116 while that loss puts Northeastern all the way back to #133. Delaware is at #170, Towson is at #188 and the rest are below 200...

Stony Brook is currently #82, Vermont up to #112. Albany & BU are back-to-back to #167 & #168 with Hartford coming in at #191.

Re: CAA RPI vs AEast RPI as of today

Funny I see this thread actually.

Saw an A-10 poster saying that Northeastern could win the A-10.

Seems Northeastern would be in trouble in the AE.

Thanks for useful information.

PS--Please take Fordham...please.

Hmm, Butler, VCU, Xavier, Dayton, Temple, Saint Louis, etc etc.

I wonder what kind of glue that person is sniffing.

It's pretty rare that both Stony Brook and Vermont would absolutely compete for 1st in the CAA this year.

Not sure how many years going forward that will be the case, but it's true this season.

I think there's a few of them in every league. But this one stood out, as it was posted by a UMass fan.

UMass has the second most "fictional pre-season conference champion" banners to Dayton.

Ah, someone from Zoo-Mass. No further explanation required.

By the time conference musical chairs is over, who knows who will be in any league. I've personally heard SLU going into about every non-football league out there. Is the AE strong enough to hold onto teams if the CAA/A-10 comes calling?

Re: CAA RPI vs AEast RPI as of today

I don't think A-10 will come calling.. and with CAA it depends. CAA seems like a one bid league now (if GMU leaves to A-10, then it would be even weaker). I just don't see the appeal from SBU stand point. It would be a parallel jump with lot of extra travel to another one bid league. When VCU was still with CAA, it was a different case.

Of course with time things can change. GMU might decide against moving and CofC might turn out to be big success. CAA might improve to a 2 or 3 bid league. One lure for SBU though is that CAA is much better conference for our baseball program, especially after the addition of CofC. And we will have a ready made Long Island rival in Hofstra.

The only prayer I have now is if Mr. March ends his 7 consecutive 1 & done's in the AE Tourney, and wins the Conf AQ. That would truly be ironic considering I slam him so much.

C'mon Mr. March!!!!!
