Jesus Christ. It gets worse every game.
Kinda tough to open up conference play against UVM and SBU. Certainly can't expect a good FG% in those games.

That said, I wouldn't be too optimistic either.

And our "star freshman" Chirs Orozco is shooting 2-for-20 to start the season.

Is it impossible for this staff to recruit a guard who can actually shoot at a high percentage???

I thought Papale was extremely impressive for BU. Really like that player. Good luck to the BU fans the rest of the way.
Hartford seems to have BU's number lately, knocking them out of the AE Tournament last year and winning today.

Papale is great- I think he's going to be tremendous for BU.

Re: AE gameday 1/5/2013

I don't think unh was that bad. I thought warney was to good. They had no one to stop him. It seemed like he scored whenever he touched it. Lenny hayes is back from tje dead! I know it is only one game but I think he brings more to table than bracey if he can score.he is definetly better on the defensive end of the floor. Pikiell needs to start 3 guards. Warney and tommy work well together. Mcalister just clogs it up when all three are in the game.

Come tourney time I am scared of everyone. Binghamton gave us a run for 35 min last year. Binghamton ALWAYS gives sbu a hard time at bing. I think we have only won 1 time at the event center. I could see wedndesday getting ugly. Let's pray.

Re: AE gameday 1/5/2013

Maine needs to prove they can win a meaningful game on the road and they'll get their chance Wednesday at Hartford. Hartford has had Maine's number for several years now. Gallagher has schooled Woodward from the sidelines, throwing wrinkle after wrinkle his way, adjusting his schemes on the fly and dismantling Maine. The Black Bears have played well at home this year and dreadful on the road. Maine's offensive balance over the last 4 games has been key. Jon Mesghna, their 6'6 junior wing, has elevated his play. He has given Maine an outside threat that provides space for Pollard, Edwards, and Fraser to operate. Mike Allison is also playing inspired ball. Shaun Lawton is a calming influence off the bench as a floor general. Justin Edwards is growing into the floor leader that Maine desperately needs him to be. Time to break the losing trend against Hartford and that starts with defense, guarding the arc in particular.

People really need to put down the rail they are trying to run Jones out of town on. This is only his second year there, the only guys who are "his guys" are all freshman. BU came out with a very effective game plan in the first half of doubling Nwakamma, but it relied on lots and lots of energy, and with the current roster limitations - which are completely out of his control - they don't have the bodies to be able to sustain high energy for 40 minutes. They have at best seven guys.

Their roster is very, very short, for reasons totally out of his control: If BU doesn't switch conferences, not only does he have O'Brien back, but he also had a commitment from a VERY, VERY good 5th year transfer who backed out once BU got banned from the AE tournament.

AMEN!!!!!! This has very little or next to nothing to do with Coach Jones.

Lots of BU's minutes are going to Freshman. It appears like they are in almost every game but have trouble finishing. This is due to inexperience, fatique and lack of a go to guy like a John Holland or Daryl Partin as in years past.

BU will eventually become a very good team as the Freshman begin to mature, and gain valuable experience.

As Mike Jarvis once said to all the BU basketball parents when the team was very young - "PATIENCE!!! - when we are this young, we aren't going to gel simply because you want us too "

Really bad case of food poisoning... he was sitting on the end of the bench, looking a shade of pale-green all game.
