Re: Maine/Hartford
Not so sure Hartford can't get into that top 3 and not so sure that UMaine doesn't have another late season collapse and end up in the bottom 3...

Re: Maine/Hartford
Can someone please tell me why, in all of your infinite wisdom, why you would even entertain the thought of sitting in a 2-3 zone for even one possession against a team that has a recent track record of torching teams from behind the arc. It's the complete antithesis of effective coaching. I've seen middle school basketball teams are more prepared than Maine was heading into the game yesterday.

Re: Maine/Hartford
Did Maine really play zone against Hartford? I didn't have any video, only the SI scores, and it's kinda hard to tell from that. If they did, their coaching should remain seated and silent during the games.

Re: Maine/Hartford
As I alluded to prior to conf play, UMO is about to get into a heap of trouble if Mr. March doesn't solve this potential season ending showstopping dilemma.
In Conf play (3 games) Edwards is only shooting 36% (11-30) from the field & 22% (2-9, 1 being a prayer bank shot) from Teaserland. John Mesghna is hitting 63% from Teaserland (7-11), while the rest of team is hitting only 18% from that range (5-27). This could become a huge problem if teams in the AE can shut down Mesghna from outside, as he is their ONLY real threat beyond the arc. It's not rocket science! |

I honestly think Maine has a lot of talent in that team. The top 5 players are really strong. If Mesghna continues to improve it should open up more for Edwards. Mesghna is tough to guard as he is tall at his position. I never go by 1 game but I didn't see much from Gloger and Lawton. It would not surprise me at all to see Maine go on a big run in conference play. |

Re: Maine/Hartford
Game story with some big photos and interesting quotes on Gallagher about the evolution of the offense from chuck-and-duck to shooting 3's when the defense gives them to you and running the offense through Nwakamma.

In 4 conf games Edwards is 16-46 (3-14 from beyond the arc) Like I said, It's not rocket science! Mr. 1 & Done will have to beat Gallagher in the AE Tourney, who is 6-0 vs Woodward. Good luck with that.
