Re: AE Gameday 1/15/13
Can we just talk about how Carson Puriefoy outplayed both Watson and Irving yesterday aswell as the previous game. All this talk about recruiting classes it is obvious that the class of Warney and Pureifoy is the best.
Once again we will hear how good irving is but he was ok last year and is turning out to be ok this year. |

Definitely doesn't help that Black is winless against Irving though- maybe that changes this season?

Re: AE Gameday 1/15/13
Puriefoy looked great I thought. Funny how some SBU fans wanted him to red shirt a few weeks ago and said he wasn't ready for D1 basketball.

Yes. The commentary has been interesting. I'm sure the hysteria has not ended.

For me, I think 2 years was too short to really judge Chambers, and 1.5 years (handicapped by the AE ban) is certainly too short to judge Jones. I like both |

Re: AE Gameday 1/15/13
I think Black is a much better shooter, I think it would be difficult for anyone to argue against that, which is something I value highly personally so why I would give the nod to Black, but DJ Irving is a better passer and better at driving and probably a better defender as well.

Re: AE Gameday 1/15/13
Do you think the word hysteria might be a little strong? You asked a couple weeks ago - why the personal attack? I think its because you are so condescending. You rarely if ever comment on the actual basketball being played. Your posts are almost always attacking other SB fans for having an opinion about the team you don't agree with. Puriefoy was awol in non-conference play. Much of this was due to his not picking up the system and Anthony Jackson's unbelievable play so far this year. He has come a long ways and worked very hard to get what coach wants and has earned more playing time because of it. Ron Bracey on the other hand has never embraced what coach wants of him and he is now the last man on the bench.

Re: AE Gameday 1/15/13
No I don't think the word was too strong. Sorry if you take me as condescending, but I have always tried to take a balanced and thoughtful approach to what I write rather than yield to my emotion of the moment. Puriefoy wasn't AWOL, he was just a typical freshman making typical freshman mistakes. He had good moments and bad and I took that for what it was worth. The tools are there, but I didn't expect him to knock my socks off with his play. Just hoped he'd be a solid backup like AJ was for Dougher. So I didn't go off the deep end and question whether or not he was a D1 caliber player or suggest that he should have been redshirted. I've often written that I prefer to let it play out and not get too high with a win or too low with a loss. If all of that makes me seem condescending then sorry, because I'm not trying to be. And finally, yes I do think some of us SB fans are getting a bit crazy and over the top in our proclamations and declarations. I'm not crazy about when others do it, so I can't be a hypocrite when we do it. Your typical post is edgy and humorous and that's awesome. I just tend to be very matter of fact when it comes to posting here.
