Re: AE Gameday 1/15/13
I find it funny how the BU women (15-3) 34 RPI are responsible for bumping up the RPI in the conference which could help the AQ receive a better seed perhaps. Hopefully the selection committee will see through that mirage. Same could be the case for the men if BU wins the AE reg Season.

I'm confused as to what "mirage" you're referring to. I don't think the AE representatives in the NCAAs will get higher seeds based on just having BU on their schedule for 2 out of 30 games...unless, of course, they actually *beat* BU (particularly on the women's side, where that would be a quality win). And I don't think there's any element of a "mirage" about that, as these are regular season games that count for everybody. I think if you're worried about a real noticeable seed inflation by association situation, you can probably sleep easily as that is such a small part of the overall picture. P.S. I'm with UVMHC, go BU! |

Re: AE Gameday 1/15/13
Big game tonight!
Obviously, I can't predict a Terrier win, not with #24 roaming around in the paint. He should have a field day down there. Hopefully BU can take advantage of their speed on the perimeter. I'm not sure how SBU's shooting stacks up to BU's (I haven't seen the 'Wolves play yet this year). BU's defense has also been really strong lately. |

Re: AE Gameday 1/15/13
This a monster game for UVM & SBU. How BU fares against those 2 teams will determine the 1 seed IMO. Although Albany is right there as well. I know the BU women are on a mission, and hope the men are as well, although they sure as hell didn't show it against UMO.

Re: AE Gameday 1/15/13
Carson Purefoy and Dave Coley are pretty quick themselves both coming fresh off 15+ point game. If BU is smart they will have irving pressure the crap out of Purefoy who has seemed shaky against superior guards, but he did just drop 15 in his first start of his college career. They will also tell Dom Morris to play as physical as the refs will allow with warney.
Tommy Brenton will be the X factor once again. If he gets going and the seawolves make their foul shots the game should be a 10 point win for the wolves. |

The BU women are 14-3 (sure, they will be 15-3 after they beat the hell out of Maine) and their RPI is 43 (which will drop even after a win because of Maine's pathetic RPI of 323). After them, the next highest RPI is Hartford at #82 followed by Albany at #168. I can't imagine any sort of bump would occur for the women whatsoever...as it stands, the AEast is #24 in the conference standings, like the men. Winner of this league will be a 15 or 16 seed barring some crazy conference upsets from the 1-bid leagues where the top teams lose...then who knows. Unfortunately, the bad teams more than make up (in a negative way) for having a single good team. When you have #325 UMBC, #323 Maine, #308 Bing & #291 Vermont, it drags everyone down.

Watson is a turnover machine. Settle down, make the easy play.

Nice take by Irving...wow.
SBU can't score and they're getting good looks.
