Ya, I skip over Becker quotes....they usually put me to sleep.
Place will be packed tonight though.

Re: Stony Brook @ Vermont 1-18
I thought Becker's quotes were fine. Could have left out "worrying about fatigue" as we just played Wednesday. Normally that would be fair, but The game was home and it was against Binghamton- against anyone else it would be valid but let's not kid anyone, the players didn't have to work very hard that game as they would have against someone else.

If you think Patrick is "just" a gym fine but then you have to realize Pritchard is an auxillary gym for a middle school. |

But seriously, if I remember correctly each side has 29 rows of seats, with 56 numbered spaces in each row. |

Re: Stony Brook @ Vermont 1-18
I personally love the gym atmosphere of lower level division one basketball schools. Pack those babies and no doubt the players feel the place rockin. Of course I'm excited for Stony Brook's new arena, which will help with recruiting and attendance, but why do you think these teams like Vermont and Stony Brook are having so much success at home, the small gyms get loud and feel much bigger when they're full. Even our middle school gym.

Re: Stony Brook @ Vermont 1-18
It's great that SBU is renovating it arena but lets remember SBU's attendance know is what it was when the old 4,000 (or so) seat arena was open and in use.
Because of the limited size of Pritchard your fan base really hasn't been able to grow with the program. On special occasions like your NIT game you'll draw well but for your avg mid major I think the arena will echo with balls bouncing |

Re: Stony Brook @ Vermont 1-18
Let's all remember that last year was the same situation by gyms reversed. Stony brook beat UVM at home and then went there and lost. At the time SBU was the favorite and won at home and was the favorite at the time when they played at UVM but lost which gave UVM the regular season tilte until tehy fell asleep at binghamton. Looks like a repeat
Patch the good news is SBU has had good attendance from the locals during the student break. Which hopefully translates to SBU going on a run and getting both locals and students which will lead to sell outs. If pikiell can win this year and keep the momentum we may actually get alot of people i nthe new arena. 20 win seasons are obviously the key to getting butts in the seats. |

Re: Stony Brook @ Vermont 1-18
I, for one, have grown tired of the complaints about Pritchard's size. I suggest the next time you come here, you get a tape measure, put Ollie on your shoulders, and see if the rim is 10 feet from the floor.

Re: Stony Brook @ Vermont 1-18
People stub people into Patrick all the time. I've seen 7 kids get in with 2 tickets. You bring your friend a ticket stub and they can walk in. When UVM play Buffalo at home the student section had fans sitting in the stairs halfway up. I think Patrick has been atleast 100 over 3266 capacity. They really pack them in their at times.
