Nobody is complaining of the size; rather pointing out a clear home court advantage by playing in such a small gym. Why do you think SBU and Vermont have won a bunch of games at home in the AE? Yeah, the team have been good first and foremost but both play in TOUGH places to play. They both play in small gyms that get packed and loud. Patrick makes Pritchard look minuscule, so obviously it's a big advantage.

Yes exactly, small gyms (that are full) = big home court advantage. From what I've heard with our new arena, the design is to get fans close to the floor, no doubt trying to mimic the feeling of a smaller gym but in a larger facility. Fan base has definitely grown by leaps and bounds in the past several years so here's to hoping consistent butts will be in those 21 million dollar seats.

Stony Brook opened up the day favored by 3 before enough bettors put money on Vermont to swing it. As of now, some Vegas casinos have SBU favored by 1, others have it at 1.5.

Once again NDY - your understated ways don't do this game justice. It is much bigger than the most important game in the history of sports.

I could not get anyone to blow off work today to make the 6 hour trip to Burlington. The local Buffalo Wild WIngs will have a nice contingent of SB fans however.

I realize SB's dominating success of the past several years has insulated us from real critique, but this Pritchard talk is really ridiculous. SB is playing in a temporary facility while their much larger facility is being renovated. If Pritchard were the permanent home of SB basketball then the barbs would be valid. The fact that it is a temporary solution makes the attacks on it laughable.
