Re: Bracketbuster Games

Iona would make the most sense if the RPIs can come close to matching up because it's a home game this season and would give the Iona Prep kids (Voelkel/Sandro) their senior home game next season.

Re: Bracketbuster Games

You need to go by the current RPI's.

These are the current RPI's for UA and UVM as of today...

UA
ESPN-127
REAL TIME-123
Live RPI-124
CBSSPORTS-123

UVM
ESPN-155
Real Time-143
Live RPI- 142
CBSSPORTS-143

UVM's is going down after the Maine game, while UA's is going up after Stony Brook. Looking good for UA.

The SBU game for Albany is after they pick games for the bracket busters. They pick the games on the 28th.

Re: Bracketbuster Games

UVM would have needed to win @Maine and @Albany to have shot at a TV game. That ship has sailed with loss @ Maine tonight.

Luckily you don't have to worry about the NEC team because I far as I know, there;s no NEC teams in the bracket buster field and hasn't been one in quiote a while (4 or 5 years, iirc).

They just played @ Iona last year. If they wanted to play there again, I'm sure they could've set up another home and home series for the regular season.

Bracketbuster return games aren't typically scheduled for the following season. Contractually, UVM would have to visit their BB opponent in the 2014-2015 season.

This is why BU @ Loyola, UNH @ Towson, etc., did not happen this year. I guess BU-Loyola never will (in the BB sense anyways).

Return games must be played within 2 seasons of the BB game, but certainly can be played the following season. In fact, due to the particular scheduling wants/needs of certain teams, UVM actually played 2 BB return games this year (home vs. Charleston, return for 2011...away vs. Niagara, return for 2012).

They only recently made it a 2-year window, to help ease some scheduling/travel conflicts. Prior to 2011, it was always a "you must play it next year" return game.

This.

Must be within two years, but for UVM it's typically been the following year. We played CofC in 10-11 but the return game wasn't until this season.

We hosted Niagara in 11-12, went to Buffalo this season, etc. Majority of our BB games returned immediately.

Re: Bracketbuster Games

When are the TV games announced? I know in the past ESPNU has has a selection show which was pretty cool. DOes UVM have any chance of getting one after losing to Maine?

Tomorrow.

May have had a chance had we beaten Maine, but not now. There are 13 TV games and our RPI isn't in/near the 13 home teams.

Re: Bracketbuster Games

Should be noted that the 13 "TV" games also include ESPN3
