Only 2 that truly have milder weather are Stony Brook (mostly ocean effect) and Baltimore (obviously much further South than the rest of the league). |

Re: What AE city would you want to live in.
I go 2 hours north and I feel a major difference in the weather/temp. I'm living in southern NH right now. That 2 hours difference is enough for me to not want to move up north in any way. You can say the same thing about Burlington. It just has enough going on to almost make you forget about it. If people said Burlington is too cold and snowy for them to want to live there I would agree.

Burlington is arctic in the winter, but summers in Burlington are the absolute best.

Re: What AE city would you want to live in.
I spent my first 18 years in northern Virginia and so far my second 18 years in Burlington. I still struggle getting through January and February (we are expecting between 0 and -10 tonight) but between May and October this city is a jewel. In the summer months there is literally a festival every weekend on the Waterfront. This fall I was able to bike from my house to watch Grace Potter and the Nocturnals play an outdoor waterfront show as the sun was setting behind the Adirondacks.

Re: What AE city would you want to live in.
1. Boston
2. Baltimore 3. Burlington 4. Stony Brook 5. Albany 6. Hartford 7. Durham 8. Binghamton 9. Bangor Only reason I have Binghmaton higher than Bangor is the proximity to friends and family in the NYC area. Boston, Baltimore and Burlington are clear 1-2-3 for me. Burlington drops to 3 because of Winter and location. It is an awesome town. I have Stony Brook above Albany just because of proximity to the ocean and NYC. I have been in Albany for 15 years and it is a good place to live but I miss the ocean. Hartford is a clear 6 and Durham is a clear 7. |

Binghamton is magical place where you feel like you are going back in time. The other reason is that I ranked it higher than bangor is not so isolated. If we are talking about Portland, then it is in contention for top 3 on the list.

That's just one band- but yes, something people actually go to.
