Hartford's big man is the leading scorer in conference play averaging around 17pts/game. I would not have guessed that considering all the 3s Hartford bombs.

Up until the UMBC game Hartford's 3's were a product of pounding the ball in to Nwakamma, defenses collapsing and Nwakamma kicking out to the open man. No one's been more critical in previous seasons about the Hawks bombs away, forced 3's at all costs offense, but for most of the season Hartford's 3's are open shots and a product of pounding it into the post... Yes, this is what killed BU against UHa. We were actually very good at collapsing around Nwakamma, but he was even better at finding the open man on the perimeter every time.

UNH is atrocious in conference. They have one player shooting over 43% (MATAGRANO!) and haven't even been close in a lot of these games.

I wouldn't be surprised if they won this one just because this is probably the straw that breaks the camel's back if Herrion goes out and loses badly on ESPN3. Could be a trap game for us, though, with the game of the season coming up Saturday against Binghamton.

What scares me the most from about Hartford is if they're hitting their 3s and then our players try and match them from 3 to catch up. I feel like that happened a little bit in the Maine game. Emphasis on the 3 ball isn't really our game.

Statistically our 3pt defense says we're pretty good- 2nd in conference play, 3rd overall, but my eyes seem to make it feel differently. It feels like teams knock down a bunch of 3s against us, but I guess they really don't.

To get us back on track talking about the Hartford/UNH game as opposed to Vermont's 3-pt shooting offense & defense:

This will be a tough game...I am gonna say UNH wins, 70-68...should be a good game I would think.

I think talking about Hartford's propensity to shoot 3s- which is what a few people were talking about- is pretty relevant for anything to do with....Hartford.

True...you did mention Hartford's propensity to shoot 3's. LOL...it's all good. Should be a good game tonight...

Yeah, Hartford has taken 440 3s on the season, most in AE. BU is second at 423. UNH has taken about 350 but is only hitting 30%.

I think UNH makes a stand tonight and gets a W.
