Re: OT: All things Purple Fam
Not sure but he sent his LOI...this is a huge pickup for UA on paper. Hopefully it translates to the field...must be CAA and the new stadium.

Re: OT: All things Purple Fam
I don't know much about football, but if he really had offers from Syracuse, Maryland, Purdue, Ga. Tech and Virginia, then it wasn't CAA and it wasn't the new stadium...

Re: OT: All things Purple Fam
May be Albany will give him the chance to start right away, where as those schools might have wanted to redshirt him the first year.
Whatever the reason, he is a quality addition. Circle 11/23 on your calender

Re: OT: All things Purple Fam
Man...that looks awesome! Wish they would have put UA earlier in the year when the weather was still OK...
Here's the video of the kid being discussed... http://vimeo.com/54596958

Re: OT: All things Purple Fam
Here's my take. The kid is ridiculous...the video shows clearly why: athletic freak, runs down every play, is positioned well...and hits REALLY hard for his size.
My guess is that UA said he will get seriuos time right away. He is also listed as an athlete by most schools...which means at the big boy schools he may have been moved to Safety depending on the system because of his size and speed. At Albany, he will chuck on 20 lbs...and play OLB, which will be really scary at this level if he plays to potential. THIS...is why he is at UA. But make no mistake: NO Ford; No Stadium; No CAA...and Albany isn't sniffing this kid. The QB from VA got a late offer from Penn State. He is really raw (1 yr starter) but has serious potential as well. |

Re: OT: All things Purple Fam
"Ngachie said he received early interest from major-college programs such as Virginia, Syracuse and Hawaii before they backed off because of concerns about his lack of size at 5-foot-11 and 225 pounds." Read more: http://www.timesunion.com/sports/art...#ixzz2KEIiPxZQ Thats stupid.. its their loss and Albany's gain. I hope that he uses that as a chip on his shoulder when the season starts. |
