The difference between this being a 12pt game and an 18-20pt game was literally a couple plays, which is why I was never worried.
*Voelkel tried to force a pass inside that was stolen
*Kilpatrick had the ball taken from him at the top of the key
Those plays led to easy transition shots from UMBC, where I think Getz may have hit an open 3 from the top of the key.
Additionally, Neller hit a contested 3 from the corner where if Trey Blue played any better D he would have been called for a foul, and then Neller hit another 23ft contested 3. Both good shots against good defense. That's a 6 point swing right there.
UVM was doing what it was supposed to do- get the ball inside and play defense, UMBC just didn't quit and made some nice plays on their end.
