Re: UVM @ UMBC

But back to my original point, it's getting tiresome watching UVM blow leads the last couple of years when up big and watching body language its looks like a lack of intensity. The offense gets stagnant and the players get lazy and lackadaisical..its almost more like cockyness that the game is over. Part of this I blame Becker for, most apparent in the Maine game as of late. They build a decent size lead (8-11 pt range) and then Becker does wholesale subs when the group that was in was hot and then the lead dwindles down to 3-4 and momentum is lost. I'd like to see us step on our opponents throat and keep that gas on during a run instead of distribute the minutes. Yes we won the game today but against better teams they wont hold those leads. Not to mention we put up stinkers against really bad team from time to time @Bing last year and vs Dartmouth this year. Examples of this during this season: @BU vs SBU (we held on) @Maine |

Basketball is a game of runs and teams will come back no matter how much intensity you think is there. |

Another point is that a 10 pt lead is a big lead when you consider UVM's methodical style of play.
That said, it is frustrating to see UVM get up big and then coast, it's getting to be something of a habit. Sent from Verticalsports.com Free App |

Re: UVM @ UMBC
The difference between this being a 12pt game and an 18-20pt game was literally a couple plays, which is why I was never worried.
*Voelkel tried to force a pass inside that was stolen *Kilpatrick had the ball taken from him at the top of the key Those plays led to easy transition shots from UMBC, where I think Getz may have hit an open 3 from the top of the key. Additionally, Neller hit a contested 3 from the corner where if Trey Blue played any better D he would have been called for a foul, and then Neller hit another 23ft contested 3. Both good shots against good defense. That's a 6 point swing right there. UVM was doing what it was supposed to do- get the ball inside and play defense, UMBC just didn't quit and made some nice plays on their end.
