This is a big game for both teams. Both teams need the win. SBU will have a really tough game ahead of them. First off snow storms make every lazy, Hartford is good, SBU has to play at Hartford, SBU hasnt played in a week, hartford coming off big win played tough against UVM and beat boston u, and SBU is doing same day travel today. Hopefully the ferry doesnt get them out of balance.

SBU by 4.

Hartford going hard. This looks like a game SBU will lose. Hope not! but time is running out and Hartford continue to shoot the 3s

Congrats to HU. What a game. I felt we were going lose one game in this 3 game road series but didn't know it would be Hartford. Good job and the three point shooting was amazing tonight. Tied for 1st place heading home (UVM holds tiebreaker) with a three game home series coming up against Bing, showdown vs Vermont on Friday, and UMBC.

60-55 FINAL

I think this lost is the best for the team. They can bounce back and enjoy being back home. Lets go Seawolves

and once again. Congrats to Hartford. Well played, great competitor, and amazing three point shooting!

Great win by Hartford!!!

Limiting SBU to 55 is a solid job, CONGRATS

I believe Hartford is something like 8-4 at home now.
I didn't think of that. For real man! Solid!

Hartford fans should feel good about this team. They got something going on up there!

Fun game to watch as it was so back and forth. Warney was just a BEAST. Scary to think how good he can become in the next few years. They just lobbed it into him and he had great position and just put it right in...even when he was doubled. Very impressive. The one thing I have to give the Hartford teamis they are tougher than they have been in seasons. They can fight on D. Hopefully they are now learning how to win and be able to finish off teas when they do have the lead. Good luck to Stony Brook the rest of the way.....hoping we are not on your side of the bracket in March.

Thanks Hartford for knocking SBU down a peg. Great game, Hartford is going to be tough come tourney time.
+1

Vermont returns to the top seed. But hopefully not for long.

I didnt watch the game but i saw this coming. At hartford, after a snow storm, a week break, same day travel and to top it off the teams gets stuck in a ditch before the gaem.

I heard from the SBU faithful who traveled that SBU was pathetic. warney and breton were solid but the SBU guard and bench play was awful. more sbu losing than hartford winning.

my first reaction was to be angry after seeing the score but it isnt a bad loss hartford is a tough team! the bottom line is if anyone said SBU would win the league with only 1 loss no one would have believed it. it comes down to taking care of business at home. beat bing, umbc, uvm and albany at home and thats it. if you cant beat maine and hartford on the road you dont deserve 1st place. ncaa or bust for pikiell this year.

This is the way I felt after UVM lost to BU and Maine. I think even the most ardent SBU fan had to think 15-1 was a stretch. I'm still not convinced 14-2 will do it, for either SBU or UVM. Before SBU went 14-2 last year, 13-3 won the league 4 years in a row. Too many variables out there on the road.

Nice win by Hartford. The players play real hard and buy into their coach's system and they all have confidence in themselves.

Not at all surprised to see them win. Their style of play combined with skilled players and quickness make it so if their 3s are dropping (which they were- 10/23 44%) they can beat any AE team on any given night.

Nwakamma, for my money, is the most impressive PF/C in the league. His combination of athleticism/speed/skill is tough to contend with and what puts him over the top.

That SBU fan who was fighting with Sam that Nwakamma was not that good is eating crow right now.

Hartford is very good at controlling the style of play, which is what scares me the most about them. Did the same thing today against SBU they did to us- force a helter skelter style of play with a lot of turnovers going in both directions. Both teams combined for 31 turnovers today and 32 in the game when we played them.

All day long! All day! Nwakamma gets the ball about 15 feet from the basket, squares up, sees what the SB defender was giving him and pops a sweet jumper in the defender's face. In at least two timeouts Coach Young is screaming at his players, "Make him dribble! Make him dribble!" The three pointer was a killer - the dunk was just an in your face cherry on top of the sundae. The last five minutes Gallagher put the ball in his hands on offense. It was his game to bring home for Hartford.

As someone pointed out - Hartford did indeed dictate pace of play and the SB guards fell totally into that trap. Hartford also played a very harassing defense on the perimeter. 39-30 and the three 3's in a row totally turned the entire thing around.

Watching Brenton and Warney made it worth the trip. The rest of the team not so much today. In the first half I thought they were playing on ice. Jackson and especially Coley just kept falling down. They must have hit the ground 8 times trying to cut and move - it was inexplicable.

You are correct he is the best player in the league! best guy in the gym.

Is he better than voeklel? Is he better than Rugg? Is he better than carrissimo? is he better than Brenton? is he better than warney? is he better than Irving? is he better than black? is he better than Frasier? is he better than edwards? Is he better than plummer?

So if warney is a 1st team player right now does he become a national all american becsause he is a freshman? class means nothing.

Is he better than average? yes. is he a great player? no. define great. If he is not a 1st teamer in the america east he isnt great. Great players are coppenwrath, blakely, holland, wilson, sorrentine... hell i will go brenton, veolekel, suero, partin, mcgwynn....
