Re: SBU at Hartford 2pm
On top of that, I think Hartford proved that they are atleast the #3 seed, sorry Bosiy looks like you're right about UA. Not sure what a tougher AE Tournament game is Albany at home, or against Hartford

Re: SBU at Hartford 2pm
Nice win by Hartford. The players play real hard and buy into their coach's system and they all have confidence in themselves.
Not at all surprised to see them win. Their style of play combined with skilled players and quickness make it so if their 3s are dropping (which they were- 10/23 44%) they can beat any AE team on any given night. Nwakamma, for my money, is the most impressive PF/C in the league. His combination of athleticism/speed/skill is tough to contend with and what puts him over the top.

If they are still not convinced that Nwakamma isn't very good after today, then I don't know.....that's just outright denial with a dose of crazy mixed in.

Re: SBU at Hartford 2pm
Hartford is very good at controlling the style of play, which is what scares me the most about them. Did the same thing today against SBU they did to us- force a helter skelter style of play with a lot of turnovers going in both directions. Both teams combined for 31 turnovers today and 32 in the game when we played them.

When your two guards both have 4 turnovers each and shoot a combined 7-27 you cant win the game on the road. just cant. SBU is a better team than hartford. you just need to be ready to play everyday regardless of circumstances. |

Re: SBU at Hartford 2pm
All day long! All day! Nwakamma gets the ball about 15 feet from the basket, squares up, sees what the SB defender was giving him and pops a sweet jumper in the defender's face. In at least two timeouts Coach Young is screaming at his players, "Make him dribble! Make him dribble!" The three pointer was a killer - the dunk was just an in your face cherry on top of the sundae. The last five minutes Gallagher put the ball in his hands on offense. It was his game to bring home for Hartford.
As someone pointed out - Hartford did indeed dictate pace of play and the SB guards fell totally into that trap. Hartford also played a very harassing defense on the perimeter. 39-30 and the three 3's in a row totally turned the entire thing around. Watching Brenton and Warney made it worth the trip. The rest of the team not so much today. In the first half I thought they were playing on ice. Jackson and especially Coley just kept falling down. They must have hit the ground 8 times trying to cut and move - it was inexplicable. Last edited by SaltySeawolf; 02-10-2013 at 05:25 PM. |

For the whole season he is third in scoring while shooting 49% with 5.8 reb and 1.6 stls. This has all been with him being the focal point of defenses. I dont think he is guaranteed first team but he is up there and is a little more than a good player. He is a great player especially when you take into account he is a SO. You oppinion on him is off. You called him average before I believe. Now you raised it to good. You are just being stubborn with your oppinion on him. It's tough to admit you were wrong. |

Re: SBU at Hartford 2pm
You are correct he is the best player in the league! best guy in the gym.
Is he better than voeklel? Is he better than Rugg? Is he better than carrissimo? is he better than Brenton? is he better than warney? is he better than Irving? is he better than black? is he better than Frasier? is he better than edwards? Is he better than plummer? So if warney is a 1st team player right now does he become a national all american becsause he is a freshman? class means nothing. Is he better than average? yes. is he a great player? no. define great. If he is not a 1st teamer in the america east he isnt great. Great players are coppenwrath, blakely, holland, wilson, sorrentine... hell i will go brenton, veolekel, suero, partin, mcgwynn.... |
