POY is too early to call at this point, and probably most of first team as well, but at this stage Nwakamma is a lock for 1st team.

He's 3rd overall in scoring and 1st in scoring in conference play by a wide margin.

Off the top of my head these players were not first team their SO year. Brenton, Voelkel, Partin, Mcglynn. Warney will not be first team at the end of year. I guarantee it. The coaches never reward freshmen with first team. Does that mean Warney is not a great player? Warney is a great player because of what he does as a freshmen. Warney's stats are not as good as other players in this league.

I left Warney off because I dont see the coaches giving it to a freshmen. I left Black on because the coaches love seniors but Blacks play lately plus being hurt should eliminate him. I wouldn't call anyone a lock right now but there isn't much time left right now to change things. My predictions

Nycwolf...your notion that if you're not a 1st teamer in the AE than you're not a great player could not be more wrong...especially in the AE! The coaches in the league are so petty and don't reward the best players with these awards. There are so many more politics involved with it that using that as any barometer to exclude all but the 5 chosen is just not accurate

Well, he's definitely better than Rugg, Carissimo and Plummer. Right now I'd say he's been significantly better than Black this year, better than Irving, better than Edwards, he's a heck of a lot better than Partin and better than Suero because he plays defense and makes players around him better on top of being damn good in his own right... He's better than McGlynn because he's multi-dimensional and can defend...

He's almost a lock for first team at this point.

i agree with wat you just said

maybe he meant in the sense that since the AE is a bottom tier DI conference, if you dont make the cut for 1st teamer then you are not great due to the lower quality of the league... that was my interpretation

i disagree with him either way
