I don't agree with this at all. Three lefts may make a right, but 2 wrongs never do. If it is true that SBU is trying to rig the outcome of a championship game, or any game for that matter, there is no reason for any other school lower themselves into that moral sewer.

I know I was being sarcastic and proving a point. Just because UVM gym isn't big enough to fit more UVM fans the other team should not be punished. UVM has 1 of the smaller gyms in the league but you don't see them trying to bypass the 600 ticket alotment for other teams.

We are most likely not good enough to host a championship game right now. Furthermore, most teams don't have 600 fans that would be willing to travel to Burlington even for a championship game. #mutepoint

I wonder how many times the opposing team didn't use up the 600 tickets. While most team don't have 600 regular fans willing to travel, fans always come out of the woodworks for championship games and games on TV. I'm sure a lot of students go to these games through buses with the school.

Holy crap man. Stony Brook has sold out every conference home game this year. They should fight for every ticket they can get because every ticket they have to give away is being pulled from a loyal Stony Brook fan.

Cut it out with slanderous conspiracy BS.

So it's OK for SBU to refuse to abide by their agreement with the other league members in order to get a higher percentage of SBU fans in the gym and to steal the win? Things must be much worse at SBU than anyone ever dreamed if this is kind of morals and ethics that their graduates take away from their experience.

Here's the thing, if you really believe any of these accusations are true (Stony Brook is attempting to RIG A CHAMPIONSHIP BASKETBALL GAME and earlier you suggested Stony Brook may be PAYING OFF REFS), you have nothing to worry about as Stony Brook basketball will probably be a thing of the past.

If you understand how ridiculous all this is, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Perhaps -- but it will be fun to go back and read all the chest-pounding when the championship game isn't Vermont at Stony Brook.

Yeah, it is pretty interesting to see so many posters, specifically SBU and UVM posters assuming the tournament goes chalk. I like SBU's chances quite a bit, but UVM is pretty injured. They remind me very much of Voelkel's freshman year when he had groin pull, Fjeld had a back problem and Bald had a sprained ankle. We made a quick exit in the quarterfinals. It wasn't even that close. I think that team may actually have been healthier than we are right now.

I'll be at the tournament cheering hard for a #1 upset, but if I were a betting man, I'd say the odds are much higher for a 2-3 seed upset.

I didn't follow anywhere near as closely at the time - but the 8 seed Stony Brook upset over number 1 Boston U years ago sticks in my head. On any given night anything can happen. I will be bummed by a SB loss in the tourny - but I won't be surprised.

Fjeld had sprained his ankle that year as well as hurt his back I believe. I think UVM fans are complaining regardless of who plays SB.
