Re: SBU apparently gets waiver to Host AE Title Game at Pritchard (if it gets there obviously)
My final point is I have never ever watched a game on tv and said "wow this gym looks really small that league should be embarrassed." Win the league then complain. Would you rather play the game at Hofstra, farmingdale, a local junior college or a half empty league gym? We're you embarrassed when bu hosted at case gym?

Because it is...09-10 when they were #1 seed, last year and now this year.

Re: SBU apparently gets waiver to Host AE Title Game at Pritchard (if it gets there obviously)
When BU hosted at Case there was no bylaw stating you had to play in a 3000 capacity gym. If there was, I'd have a problem with it- but the rule was changed after.
It's the same way BU shouldn't have a problem with not participating in the AE Tourney- it was in the bylaws and they knew it.

This is the problem. And I wouldn't even say "mid-season", it's end of the season now. Little late for this announcement. Should have been made before season started. Zero transparency and very shady.

Vermont will never host a tourney for one reason and one reason only they can't guarantee the money that Albany or Hartford can. More seats is more money. So we should get rid of SBU because they earned the right to play in their home gym for one year. What are you going to do when they get a new gym and win next year? Cry foul again. Do you realize what SBU baseball did for the AE. |

They have been reporting this on the Stony Brook broadcasts all season. This is no way a new development. People (UVM fans) only care now because it looks like they won't be the #1 seed.

That's not news, and certainly not an official announcement in any capacity by the AE.

Funny bing people talking about embarrassing! Good one
One more thing. If Maine earned the number 1 seed and Alfons went on fire and burned down. Shold they get an oppurtunity to host it in he pit or would it be embarrassing? Same with Vermont. Remember league rule sTate's 3000 people |

It's simple- either you believe in following the bylaws that are put in place to be equitable for every member school....or you're a shmuck, basically.

Show me where the news was broke earlier- like before today...in any official capacity. Nobody knew about it until today (or maybe a few days ago apparently)

Re: SBU apparently gets waiver to Host AE Title Game at Pritchard (if it gets there obviously)
Oh, my! Everybody freakout! I mean, we never expected Stony Brook to host the tournament while their arena was under construction. And because they're so, so mean to us it's not fair that they would get to host a championship game in their home gym. I mean, why don't they keep losing like they used to do? We liked them so much better when we used to call it the "Stony Brook memorial play in game". But now they're good and they want to play in their home gym! They should have to travel to the home of the lower seed. We'll be nice and let them wear their home uniforms! We're trying to be fair but they're mean and should not be allowed to play in their stupid home gym! It's the rules! And beside, they might have a home court advantage and that's just not fair! Whaa! Whaa! The rules! The rules!
