Stony Brook at Maine 2-24-13
This game worries me a lot. Maine matches up perfectly against SB and has been very very tough. Id love to get the Maine fans perspective on this one. I do not view a Maine win as an upset at all. Appears to me that Maine is the one team that everyone would like to avoid in the tourny.

Re: Stony Brook at Maine 2-24-13
Conference scenarios:
#1 seed if: SBU win in any game of their last 3 Regular season title if: 1) SBU wins @ Maine and vs. Albany, L @ BU 2) SBU wins @ BU (other games irrelevant, we hold tiebreaker over UVM) 3) BU loses any game and we win any game 4) BU loses 2 games UVM is completely powerless in this scenario. SBU would need to lose all 3 games to give up the #1. UVM cannot win the conference title unless SBU loses out and BU loses one game. But not the regular season title. |

Re: Stony Brook at Maine 2-24-13
No. even if BU loses the last 2 games BU will still be tied with Albany and have the season sweep over them giving them the head to head advantage. That would also mean SBU beat BU which would give them automatic #1 seed and regular season. hopefully SBU takes care of business so there is no pressure against BU or Albany. to be honest the regular season title would be nice but not really huge. This year is NCAA or bust for the seawolves no more consolation prizes in the NIT. If they dont win it this year they may never do it. barring any upsets to finish out the season and quarterfinals the semi's look like SBU #1, Vermont #2, Albany #3 and Hartford #4. tough for vermont to get albany at home. but as we know there will be upsets. last year albany and hartford had great chances to upset SBU and vermont in the semi's. |

Re: Stony Brook at Maine 2-24-13
Maine's big 2- Fraser and Edwards have played poorly the last 2 games. These guys need to play well or Maine will be toast against Stony. Maine also needs Zarko to continue his hot shooting. Pollard needs to stop shooting anything beyond 15 feet and just be a facilitator. Tommy Brenton is a guy who is an extremely tough matchup for Maine. He picked them apart. Maine had a similar problem with Voelkel in their last game. The tweener forwards in the league give them fits. Maines bigs are not agile enough to guard them and since the wings other than Mesghna (in the doghouse) are all 6'3 or so there's a matchup issue. Would love to see Dimitry Coronel get some more time but Woodward has a trust issue with him. Stony Brook wins this one by 10 or so.

Re: Stony Brook at Maine 2-24-13
Pollard kills this team every time they get down. They should just bench him. Resorts to hero ball and has the worst shot selection, allows teams to extend their runs even further. Can't watch this anymore
