Yeah that's exactly it though- and even more so in Kentucky's case because it has so many new Freshmen playing their first college game, it's going to be a little different.

I think both Albany and Vermont have a little more depth where it was pretty easy for SBU to focus on Warney/Puriefoy- but neither could beat kentucky in NCAAs and you're talking about still at 15-20pt loss and not 30.

I didn't find much about this event, but Shaun Lawton was invited to participate in the Gotham Hoops Invitational on April 9, a showcase tournament for seniors. Other notable invitees:

Justin Edwards (KSU)
Justin Sears (Yale)
Jesse Chuku (Lehigh)
Rayshaun McGrew? (SBU)

Re: Maine fans: a plea for sanity

With Danny Evans signing his LOI this week, I count 11 scholarships in use next year, plus Majstorovic sitting out the year. I don't know if Melmed/Bernstein/Ashley are using scholarships or not:

SR: Reid-Knight, Beal, Pirovic
JR: Myers, Calixte, Little (Melmed walkon?)
SO: Eke, Stoj.., Eze (Majstorovic sitting, transfer) (Bernstein/Ashley walkon)
FR: Evans, Fleming

Hey ccd ... Please come back to the MBR board. A bunch of enlightened posters have taken up the cause to mute the scourge that is your "friend" Bob Cim.

I looked, and you are fighting the good fight, but my blood pressure can't handle that place.

It's not just me. There a a bunch of very intelligent posters over at MBR who are trying to rid that world of self-proclaimed, but self-deluded "genius" Mr. Cim. The chorus of anti-Cim types seem to be keeping that particular braying lunatic at bay, for the most part.

Re: Maine fans: a plea for sanity

OK, you have been proven correct. As Mainebballer, I have been banned on the MBR board, due to being critical of bcbc55, who is Bob Cimbollek. Mr. Cim continually shows himself to know absolutely nothing about college basketball, yet is allowed to post unfounded and non-factual opinions about the sport. Yet, when someone is critical of this dimwit ... one gets banned. I thought I could provide some constructive criticism and insight to counter Mr. Cim's convoluted, I-know-everything wacko postings. But ... that's not allowed over there. We should all heed your advice and stay away from the MBR board, where opinions don't matter.

Thanks for the invitation.
There needs to be some response to all the absolute foolishness that comes from the posts of bcbc55, who is some long-ago/has-been legend-in-his-own-mind high school coach Bob Cimbollek, whose theories about basketball are straight from the peach basket era and who knows nothing about college basketball. Mr. Cim believes, among many other lunatic thoughts, that one could take 8 high school players from the state of Maine and have success with UMaine's program. Yet, there haven't been 8 legit D-I players from that state in many years. He has only been able to ID 2 D-I players from the state in the last four years!

Here's a thought ... take some of what gets posted here, and post it on the MBR board.
Then again, any negativity toward the almighty "genius" Mr. Cim, will get you banned in short order.

The dude who owns that site is not worth arguing with.

The only interesting thing on there was the guy who invented the rating system (now at mainebasketballrankings.com) and the owner ran him off. Now the only discussions on his site are about how basketball was better in the 1950's and high school basketball refereeing. He can have it.

We could use some more Maine BB talk right here. Transfers, injuries and misbehaviour have made Maine this season one of the most challenging situations in all of D1 basketball. Hats off to the team for exhibiting the sportsmanship and playing effort they did this season.
