Moll is from Colonie - which is basically Albany. Seems they've been making that area a point of emphasis given other offers and interests. Guess they figure they figure Will Brown is too Down Under to notice?

This kid looks like an Anthony Lamb twin, in size, body and game.

Re: 2018 America East Recruiting Thread

Speaking of lots of offers by UVM....as of earlier today SB had over 40 offers out for the 2018 kids. The numbers seem silly, but maybe that is the way the recruiting game is played these days....throw your line into the water all over the place and hope a few 'bite'.

Recruiting is a numbers game. With 4 spots you're going to have to offer at minimum 30 kids- anyone remember the 6-player class from 4 years ago and how many offers that took?

Albany's offer to Moll must have been long enough ago that it didn't make VC. They just have UVM and Siena listed. Patsos must have seen him at an airport or on a cruise ship or something...

Someone needs to get these young men out of the Albany area.

But seriously, Albany area recruiting likely driven by Coach Tibbs & City Rocks connection. Didn't seem like we were trying to do much there until he came on board.

Moll would be my priority if I were any low level school.

Moll to me looks very good. Big body and 6"7 as a Junior so he could grow even more...I think he could be a Lamb 2.0 as well.

UNH just offered Moll as well. He looks good, but I highly doubt he is 6'7 based on that video. Looks closer to 6'4 or 6'5,and that he may be able to play the 3.

UNH has a ton of playing time available for frontcourt players in the Class of 2018, as they graduate Leissner, Camara, and Armstrong.

Vermont just offered a third player out of Florida, 6-5 G Caleb Catto out of Fort Myers/Southwest Florida Christian Academy. A handful of one-bid offers, including Winthrop and FGCU.

Which coach is on vacation in Florida right now?

I feel like I've read about Vermont offering a number of kids from Florida over the last few years now, but has even one of them ever ended up taking an official visit? There's a ton of HS basketball talent in Florida so it makes for a great place to recruit- and for coaches to travel to during a cold Spring like this, I'm sure lol, but some of these kids may have never even seen snow before. Tough sell on paper for us, but maybe not.

Feel like we have more success in Midwest, Northeast, Canada....but hopefully we do get one of these kids eventually.

It only takes one to take that plunge and find success here. Then before you know it it becomes two, then three, and you have yourself a reputation and a pipeline.

Totally agree; that's how it worked out with the midwest. You have to put the face time in at the AAU tournaments and plant the seed but it may take a couple of year to bear fruit. That being said, I think Florida is just going to be a tougher region for us- but will see.
