I don't hate Vermont anymore. Must have been a Lonergan thing.

Vermont has to shoot better from outside or they are toast.

Are you sure about that? Here's Purdue's results the last 4 years:

*No NCAA Tournament, Loss in CBI Quarters

*No post-season play...

*First Round Exit

*First Round Exit
Well, I guess now that you have added parameters to it (only Painter's tenure, these last 4 years)...smh. The point was, other than these last 2 years, they don't normally lose in the First Round. That has been my point the entire time.

Seriously, you make it so damn difficult to even hope Vermont does well tonight. At this point, I'd like to see Purdue smash the ever-loving bejeezus out of Vermont and win by about a bazillion. And I really don't give a rat's ass about Purdue.

Lol, how far do you want me to go back? Gene Keady teams are pretty much irrelevant at this point.

Painter has advanced past the first weekend of NCAA Tournament twice out of eight trips in his 11 years, that's not very good- that sucks.

Why are you so upset & sensitive? Because I believe UVM can win and know Purdue is not successful in the NCAA Tournament, thereby improving our chances, as marginal as it might be. For someone that doesn't care about Purdue you seem pretty vested in Purdue.

So is the Syracuse win but that seems to keep coming up.

You're right. That's not very good. However, with a program like Purdue, do you really expect them to be in the Sweet 16 every year? There are certain programs that come to mind for things like that: Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, Duke, Michigan State, Villanova...then others like UCLA, Indiana, Syracuse, Arizona that you expect most years...and then teams like Florida, UConn, Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Xavier, Florida State, Iowa State, West Virginia, Baylor that you think will get there on occasion as well.

Then, when you add in programs from mid-major conferences: Gonzaga, Wichita State, VCU, Dayton that seem to be very good every year along with your upstarts like Middle Tennessee State, Western Kentucky, Little Rock, St. Mary's, Northern Iowa, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Florida Gulf Coast, etc, you are now looking at a pretty big pool of schools competing for just 16 spots.

For as easy as you seem to think it is to get to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament, I would argue that it is extremely difficult. Not only does your seed play a big deal, so do injuries. One of those 2nd Round losses in all likelihood would not have occurred had it not been for the injury to Robbie Hummel.

You're right...and I know. My bad.

I would love to see Vermont win, esp because of Speidel. The way he is attacking his recovery and how far he has come is such an inspiration and I would love for that story to get carried on as long as possible.

Agreed, and I expect them to try to spread out and bring Lamb and Henson out to the 3 pt line to get the big guys from Purdue out of the middle so TBH can drive. It will be key if Lamb and Henson can drain threes early.

Let's throw Urquhart, Payen and Rohrer down low and feed them the ball and try to make contact every possession...maybe we can get Swanigan or Haas in foul trouble.

Where or what source can you watch the game if you are not watching it live in Milwaukee and/or don't have TruTV channel? I'm currently staying in a hotel in NY and they don't offer that channel.

That was a memorable, iconic NCAA Tournament upset, and it's the national media that is usually bringing that game up.

Those type of upsets happen every year...it's "memorable & iconic" to Vermont fans, which it should be.

And which national media members post in here? My comments were in regards to this forum.

Going to have to head to a bar or someone's house that has TruTV. Here are the UVM watch locations across the country- so if you're in the city you'll have a place to go:

Stop trolling, stop hating. This post is stupid and just continues to detract from the game this evening....of course the game is mentioned here on occasion, this is an AE message board and that was one of the greatest moments for the conference ever- FWIWit's not even mentioned that frequently.

But anytime Vermont is in the NCAAs, anytime March Madness is here...you typically see the clips of TJs shot. Sorry, just the way it is- I do not control the media.
